Every week I get requests from students for placements 👀
Unfortunately I’m in the unenviable position of having to say ‘no’ 😔 as not viable. Few tips though:
▪️Cast a wide net…area & sports
▪️Articulate how you could be of benefit to ‘them’ (two sided benefit)
▪️Stay +ve 😊
Injections won't make a difference regardless of what they said on @7Cricket . If there's no fracture the finger needs 8 weeks full-time splinting. Tough injury for a left-handed paceman.

Mallet finger for Mitchell Starc? Left middle finger on bowling hand. No tape permitted; power through the fingertip as he bowls will surely be affected. #AUSvsSA#mitchellstarc#fingerinjury#handtherapy
@snickalous Buddy, encourage flexion. Loss of movement on any other plane, follow up. Loss of adduction following this sort of impact usually comes good. My opinion and experience only. If you have concerns, go up the tree, don't rely on socials.
This article is a great place to start for those of us that struggle with the complexities of wrist pain in this cohort. Add sporting expectations into the mix and the complications can become very messy.
Thanks for the post @maximhorwitz@JHSGlobalOnline#handtherapy

Is it too simple to interpret this as the level of quality evidence bar is set so high that it is too difficult for clinicians to prove what they know works? Genuine question from a full time clinician and an intermittent, case study focussed researcher.
@jyeot Mate I think intrinsic / extrinsic imbalance is a massive reason for a lot of hand issues in sport, eg climbing. I just didn't know how to prove it. Any ideas?
