COMMUNITY ALERT – HIT & RUN INVESTIGATION

Arvada Police need your help identifying a suspect vehicle.

On February 9, 2026, at approximately 6:54 a.m., Arvada officers responded to the area of West 64th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard after a man was found lying in the roadway.

Investigators determined the victim was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Suspect Vehicle Information

Police are searching for a:
2005–2010 red Volkswagen Jetta or Passat
Evidence recovered at the scene indicates:
• A plastic VW emblem was found in the roadway
• The vehicle’s right front headlight was out

Possible Damage to Suspect Vehicle

The vehicle may now have:
• Dented hood
• Broken windshield
• Broken or missing grille pieces

How You Can Help

Please check:
• Home or business security cameras
• Vehicles in your neighborhood or workplace matching this description
• Anyone you know who may have recently damaged a red VW sedan
Even small details may help investigators identify the driver.
