No question @Ticketmaster has the dumbest bot detection of any platform I’ve ever dealt with. Bought one ticket to an upcoming game tonight, need another (and won’t attend without one) but Ticketmaster has “paused the browsing activity.” As a result, I’m stuck trying to sell the one ticket, and can’t. I’m trying to transfer it to another platform but the authentication continues to fail. Absolutely useless and pathetic @TMFanSupport

I had such a poor experience with @StubHub that I thought I needed to share. I had 4 tickets for one of the NFL playoff games over the weekend. When it became clear we would not be able to attend, I decided to list the tickets on StubHub. A few hours before kickoff they sold for $1200, or so I thought.

I received an email from StubHub stating that I had a buyer for the tickets, but SH was running a “final check” on the buyer. This raised a red flag for me, since I have never received such an email when listing on SH in the past. 15 minutes later I received another email stating the sale had been cancelled due to “security issues” with the buyer’s account. The email mentioned they were automatically relisting the tickets.

The problem is, from the time I thought the tickets had sold until the time they were auto relisted by StubHub the demand had plummeted and the prices tanked. I even received an auto email from SH within 20 min of the auto relisting suggesting I lower my price. I did end up lowering the asking price - multiple times - and since there were still no buyers I finally lowered the price to get rid of the 4 tickets for $550 total - a $650 difference from what I originally “sold” them for.

I reached out to @TeamStubHub via chat and phone and the answer was the same - nothing we can do, sorry for your loss. To which I say, that’s completely UNACCEPTABLE. I list tickets on your website and have ZERO control over the buyer. If StubHub has concerns over the buyer, they should figure that out as the buyer is submitting their purchase, not AFTER. If I cannot be confident that tickets will be purchased by a valid buyer even when they “sell,” why would I ever risk using StubHub to sell tickets again?

I do not expect StubHub to respond to this, but I thought this was such an egregious example of malpractice that customers should be aware. StubHub cannot guarantee you will be spared from fraudulent buyers, even when your ticket is “sold.” The red flags from buyers need to be dealt with at the time of purchase, not after. In this case it cost me $650 and I will never take the risk of selling NFL tickets on their platform again. I strongly suggest others consider doing the same.

It appears it’s because the game starts at 2 PM local time instead of the 1 PM they have it listed for. Only a few platforms are still selling any tickets for it but they are $180+ fees. What’s this account all about? I sell tickets on many of the ticket platforms but will sometimes offer them on X first. It won’t be for every game and often it will be right before or at game time, but I want people to avoid paying the extra fees that every platform charges.
