@isidromoralesss@csub_techteach1 The familiarity of Zoom really makes it an appealing choice! It also lets the student live reply and ask questions too, unlike a lot of other screen capture software.
@csub_techteach1 For screen capture and recording, OBS, or open broadcasting software, is really good at its job! With it, I can record me screen and play it as much as I need, all completely free. The software works extremely well and is constantly updated to make it better!
@ekristoff01@csub_techteach1 I use a similar tool in Blooket. It quizzes in the same was as Kahoot. the students love it since they get to play games in class, even if they have to study for tests at the same time!
@csub_techteach1 I have to say, my favorite tool is still Google Classroom. I can give students assignments that they can do throughout the day and the grades are automatic! Giving tests on Google Forms or assigning essays on Google docs saves paper and sanity!
@isidromoralesss@csub_techteach1 I agree! Google docs is extremely useful! On a normal paper, including graphs and pieces of evidence becomes extremely difficult, even references can be a hassle. But Google docs makes that so much easier now.
@csub_techteach1 I think my favorite google tool would have to be Google Forms. I can give tests and quizzes on their laptops without having to print out 30 pages and print an answer sheet and make sure there are not mistakes or I have to print 30 more. It is just more convenient overall!
@samanthadlt23 @csub_techteach1 I have never heard of it either! I look forward to trying to use it later to help my students excel! I loved the gamification personally though too!
@csub_techteach1 My portfolio is coming along great. The Minecraft one is fascinating to me. The students get to play games all while learning about different Subjects.
@RubiGalvez13@csub_techteach1 Hi Rubi, I agree! Google forms is a great way to meet the needs. for the shy students who have trouble talking in class, they can use it. For sensitive matters, it can be anonymous. It can also just be a great way to present cultural information to everyone.
@csub_techteach1 My tech quest portfolio is going really well! I think the video embedding works really well for a students cultural resource. It is extremely versatile, being able to play what you want/need at any time you need it. You can change the video to suit the needs at the time!.
@VanessaRM_csub@csub_techteach1 I think poll everywhere is an amazing tool to use! Nothing gets students more involved that being interested in the topics and a poll could help you find what a majority care about. you could even just make little fun polls like when to have tests or how to have tests.
@csub_techteach1 I love to use Google forms for its simplistic layout and ease of use. It is not over crowded like many technologies and relies on what the students are used to, writing or finding answers. It works like a normal paper test, but for those who cannot use pen or ink, this is works.
@MMEDINAEDTE4200@csub_techteach1 Hello Maurico,
I completely agree! I love using forms to give my students a benchmark quiz since I can pre-set answers and it automatically tells the scores as well, sparing me some time!
@csub_techteach1 Google Forms is my go-to grading tool. I primarily use it to be able to have the students go into an assignment where I can assign the form and put correct answers. This is extremely helpful when I give tests since I can set the answers and leave the students to finish it.
@kallielaine5@csub_techteach1 I agree! PowerPoint, in my opinion, is better than the others. Google Slides is a good alternative, but that's mainly because it is basically PowerPoint just directly connected to Google apps.
@csub_techteach1 I am one who loves my PowerPoint slides, but Google Slides would be a good alternative. PowerPoint can be interesting, it depends on what you pack the show with. Google sides would let me add a little more pizazz to the show, but PowerPoint is still my go to.
@MMEDINAEDTE4200@csub_techteach1 This would be an absolute blessing for the classroom! I struggle currently with students who are not on task and it distracts other students. Being able to see when students are off task would help me effectively run the class better when they are doing google classroom work.
@csub_techteach1 I actually currently use google slides/power point to effectively show my students what I am teaching. A visual aid for what I am teaching is much more effective. I can then use google classroom to make up a quiz over the slides and activities we went over for them to complete!
@VanessaRM_csub@csub_techteach1 I currently use Kahoot in my PIP classroom and the students adore it! Not only do they perceive challenge among their peers, but they also play a fun game with it as well. The best of all worlds for them. They get to play a game , and I get them to learn!
@csub_techteach1 I would want to, and currently do, use Kahoot in lessons. Kahoot is a great and fun way to get information into kids minds. I had an assessment on history in class where our review was questions on Kahoot, everyone in the class passed the test with flying colors!
