Edelweiss mort
Count Ståhlnacke wrested an Edelweiss flower from the pages of his book containing dried botany. He read on its leaves ”A lion’s paw is my Latin name, I speak of freedom, solitude and the lofty mountain range”. Ståhlnacke was born a Leo, and regularly appealed to his zodiac as a testament to his character. ”As above, so below” he thought to himself. His friends, back in those reckless, mediocre and youthful days, had given him the epithet Svea Trismegistus, due to his affinity for weaving together esoteric relationships between phenomena seemingly unconnected. The Count had a unique ability to aphoristically sever the world into a thousand fragmentary insights. Whenever he understood something, he guarded the insight heavily, mostly for fear of slaughtering its significance with the nervous convulsions which permeate those who have to hide sacred intuitions from the plebeians of the terraneous realm.
As the Count envisioned, he had built himself his mansion, to soothe his excessive and Byronic taste for adventure. Ståhlnacke lavished on his palatial elysium the most gorgeous and depraved constructs of wretched beauty. Two large mahogany doors creaked sternly everytime the Count entered his Thebaid. There he stood on obsidian plates imitating Belstaff quilt. To his right stood a marble statue of the Egyptian beauty whose presence announces itself in the admonition that ‘’the beautiful has come’’. The life-like sculpture of Nefertiti still sent shivers down the true warrior’s spine. He would rather face an Indian army of 9000 war elephants than the sirenic eyes of Nefertiti. The statue stood holding an apple, a scepter and an Egyptian book of the dead. She guarded the chateau and decided whom to welcome or banish. The piercing gaze of her beautiful eyes could spell death if she suspected commision of the sinner’s sin that only the most arresting lady in the world could preside judgment over - ugliness.
there's a certain melancholy to being a "read lots of books" guy, you can read five good books on a subject and probably be in the at least 90th percentile of knowledge on it, but compared to a real expert, you might as well have read zero
Applied for a warehouse job. Three rounds of interviews, a skills assessment, a background check, a drug test.
Six weeks. Then a form email.
I'm 34. No record. No gaps. Two prior warehouse jobs on the resume.
Meanwhile every headline says employers are "desperate for workers" and can't find anyone.
So which is it.
Because from where I'm standing, the jobs that are supposedly begging to be filled are somehow still unfilled after I applied, interviewed three times, and got ghosted.
Either the labor shortage is fake, or the hiring process itself is the thing that's broken.
Nobody in charge wants to say which.
@ASpaceKitsune Photoshop, FL Studio, Blender and all those >real software are super easy to use, and anyone could put time and effort into creating something if they wanted to
AI is just for fun, and the grind
Stay losing lol
A lot of male psychological issues spring from the lack of initiation rituals at key developmental stages.
Initiation rituals were deliberately designed to trigger psychological transcendence, altering how a young man viewed himself and his connection to the universe.
Now there's no clear psychological marker separating childhood from adulthood.
@wolf_couch@SirNscholar@THECherdFlemsky When the demand for fried brains due to AI is so high, but the supply is so low, you have to fry your own brain just to prove a point cause wtf is that sentence
