I believe this was the right decision for Twitter. We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all.
If anyone feels they are prevented from performing their jobs due to threats, they should either resign or file a hostile workplace suit. That applies to political representatives as well as to food service workers.
I feel empathy for those in the GOP who say they fear for their lives and the lives of their family because of Donald Trump. After 4 years of those threats I can only say do your damn job. Stand up. Do NOT be intimidated by threats.
