STATEMENT about my local resident Del Somerville who pled guilty to violent disorder at a local protest.

Firstly I want to say I condemn any violent behaviour towards anyone. It’s never acceptable and never the answer.

Del from Paulsgrove in Portsmouth, where I’m the elected Cllr for, has just received a 2 year prison sentence. To be clear he plead guilty. The report states he ‘pushed through a police corden’, and he ‘swore’ and he ‘threw a plastic bottle into the air towards a police line’.

Now if you break the law that should have consequences but this is where I have the problem…

In handing down the two-year sentence, the judge explicitly stated that the punishment was intended to act as a stark deterrent to others participating in subsequent regional protests.

I’m sorry but the law should be applied evenly and fairly. Del being made example of means his sentence is disproportionately worse in comparison to what others would have received in a comparable situation, outside of a protest. That is wrong.

We’ve seen violent assault convictions handed out with suspended prison sentences but then this one gets 2 years and is rushed through a process that took a few weeks.

We shouldn’t be ‘setting examples to deter others’. We should be applying the law fairly.

This is a reminder that if you are attending any protest to always remain calm a peaceful. One slightly poor emotional response can change your life forever.

This system isn’t fair and it needs to be. One rule for one, one rule for another. It’s wrong.

If you don’t think the scrubbing of nearly a dozen comedy sketches from “That Mitchell and Webb Look” is a big deal, give your head a little wobble. And then imagine what the future will look like if we allow this type of Orwellian censorship to continue.

Think of the comedy shows of the past that wouldn’t pass muster with the BBC’s woke warriors now, or for much longer: Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Yes Minister, The Office, The Thick of It - even Last of the Summer Wine would probably be deemed offensive. All of them could end up being edited to oblivion to conform with progressive ideology.

Why can’t the BBC allow us to think for ourselves? They don’t have to broadcast old comedies in prime time if they think they might upset some snowflakes, but they could stick them on iPlayer and let us choose for ourselves.

Instead, some humourless, lanyard-wearing jobsworths are meticulously making their way through even the most benign comedies with their fingers on the erase button, looking for wrongspeak.

How dare these mirthless, condescending cretins think they are in any position to decide what everyone else is permitted to find funny?

This awful age of woke surely has to come to an end, but instead it just seems to be metastasising and spreading. It is deeply authoritarian - and the more you look, the more you’ll see it.

And it’s not remotely funny.

A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.

The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019.

A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years.

Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture.

The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.

Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls.

"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded.

Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.

The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges.

The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway.

How many more adolescents will be told this is "care"?

Why is a Level 2 and 3 plumbing course free in the UK for an asylum seeker and some migrants, but not for me, who is English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and born here?

I am a 27-year-old British bloke who already has Level 1 plumbing and just wants to finish Levels 2 and 3 so I can work the trade and leave my Production Operative role for a real career.

Cost to me: £4,000–£6,000.

The same courses are free if you have refugee status here, free for an asylum seeker who has been here 6 months waiting on a decision, or refused and appealing for 6 months.

Also free immediately for several other statuses and if you are on a low income it seems.

I’m pleased that Conservative shadow cabinet members @NJ_Timothy @Rebecca_SPaul discovered some of this information and called this out publicly, forcing the church to change its position. Yes, the church might have been ignorant of some facts, but the presence of a woman with a full face veil, covered head to toe, in an outfit widely known as a visible symbol of female oppression should have given pause for thought.

Our Culture and Integration Commission was set up to end this sort of naive belief that all cultures are equal. No other party in British politics is doing this work to protect our culture.

There are some great parish priests but for too many senior clergy, faith has been replaced by virtue signalling, doctrine by fashionable causes and truth by whatever the bien-pensant in North London currently think is nice.

The modern CofE hierarchy has perfected the holy trinity of gesture, apology and review. It has become so terrified of offending everyone else that it has forgotten the one being it is actually supposed to answer to.

At the Women’s Policy Centre, we strongly oppose the decision of the Archbishop of Canterbury @ArchbishopSarah to award a man who subjects his wife to abuse by concealing her identity in such a barbaric manner. No religion can permit anyone to deny the dignity and freedom of women. Centuries of gradual adaptation and applied theology have established gender equality in the Church of England, with a woman now holding the highest office. Yet the same woman allows a man from another religion to deny his wife the same rights. This is unacceptable. No awards should ever be given to such men in the UK.
