Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the one that I never got to; I played 1 and 3, but I already saw lp’s of 2 so I didn’t feel like playing it years ago. With the physical version now out, I’ll finally give it a try.
The Wii U era wouldn’t be getting 90% of the 3rd party titles of that Direct. We probably would’ve also spent 5 minutes on just that small MK World update. Can we stop exaggerating how bad this Direct was? It was fine
@Nebocchi_Sleeps@NicoB7700 From what I can tell, the disc will still work normally. If you sell or lend it, then the digital license goes to whoever has the game. Get the disc back and you get the digital license again; which is how physical games work.
Do people just not understand that Stop Killing Games is trying to do things legally and them supporting illegal activities makes it harder to do that? Regardless of how people feel about Rockstar, they can’t just go out and say “I support this illegal thing, fuck them”
@HatingIsASport When it’s on NSO: why not let us buy the game
When it’s a solo purchase: why not put it on NSO/just emulate it
Sometimes I can’t tell whether these are different people or people just can’t make up their minds on what they want.
@kroketrendang4@Stealth40k Many stores don’t keep very many physical games in stock so it’s either order online or just get it digitally. Also, most Americans are lazy and only care about convenience.
@Ghost_2034@Pirat_Nation That number takes into account DLC, digital only games, and Switch Online. If you look at only games that have both physical and digital versions, it’s closer to 50-50.
I think Nintendo is safe to continue supporting physical media for at least the Switch 2’s lifespan. When about 40% of their sales are still physical (more if you take out the download only portion of their digital sales), it’s too big for them to just give up like Sony will
Splatoon Raiders is currently the 7th greatest game of all time on Metacritic, according to User Score.
While not necessarily a true indicator of quality, the results at least show a dedicated following.

As long as it has a physical copy, I will (ex: Wolverine). I’ve admittedly been a mostly digital person until last year; typically only getting 2-3 physical games a year. Getting the Switch 2 and the Sony news has really motivated me to buy more physical games.
@BoundaryBreak Already got a Switch 2, so I’m covered on that end. I’ll be getting the next Xbox if it has a disc version; if not, then I’ll consider finally getting a gaming pc
@piiwoo First, there’s a lot of regions that still don’t have access to the PlayStation store. Second, having actual ownership of your game that you can lend, resell, and not have to worry about the digital store eventually ceasing to function.
@SpawnWaveMedia Considering how stores have very limited selections for physical games outside of Nintendo, not many big games have released this year so far for PS, and how the general public favors convenience over anything, it’s not surprising. But still depressing.
