@moetarsier Just got jump scared by this on my timeline and though I somehow completely forgot posting this because I don't think I've seen a single other person use the Asogi pfp on here besides myself.
@MintyNme@Schaffrillas It's worth playing for the soundtrack alone imo. Probably won't blow you away with the story but it's a really solid game and definitely worth picking up on sale if the genre remotely interests you.
I was going to attempt to engage with this in good faith until I saw this guy reposting Mangalawyer unironically. Just fully embrace the culture war bullshit. That way at least you'll find enough lemmings to reach triple digits subs on your channel.
@himederebunny I just scrolled his account because of this and damn he has a lot of shit to work out. No clue how anyone even gets to a point where the slightest mention of romance sends them into a frenzy.
@zee_noblade I honestly have to respect the commitment to the bit. They've been doing this for years with little to no interaction so it's clearly for the love(or hate) of the game.
Truly unfortunate this game has to have the fanbase it does because I genuinely loved it. 90% of discussion surrounding it is exhausting and comes from a place of malice more than it does genuine appreciation. The forced hate spawns as a result and muddles legitimate discourse.
The forced hate for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 comes from 2 lies that are being pushed about its fandom:
Lie #1:
People only like E33 because it's their first JRPG
Truth:
Many people who love E33 are lifelong JRPG fans who have felt disappointed in the genre for decades. For me, nothing has hit like this game since OG FF7 (1997) and maybe FFX (2001). For many people, this is the first time in ages they've felt the rush of a New Game hitting with that Old Game Magic
E33 also destroyed the lie that Turn-Based Combat would not look good in realistic graphics (a baseless excuse made for Final Fantasy for years). For long-time FF fans who've been bullied & gaslit about this issue, E33 is extremely vindicating
Lie #2:
People who love E33 have never heard of Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, Octopath Traveller, Persona etc
Truth:
Pixel / Anime / Low-Poly 3D games do not have the same mainstream appeal as realistic 3D. I'm not saying those games are bad, I'm saying they're niche. Some are huge within that niche, and that's great. But every Anime Fan (myself included) knows the pain of trying to get someone to try their favorite thing - but they won't because they "just don't like the style"
Not only that, many modern JRPGs suffer from dialogue bloat, sluggish pacing, and an overall childish tone. You might be ok with it, but those are dealbreakers for many people. There's a saying: "We grew up, but the games didn't."
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the best of the Old mixed with the best of the New, with none of the BS of either. That is why it is so successful and respected amongst its fandom. It's mainstream success is a victory for the JRPG scene. It's made average gamers curious to see what else the genre has to offer. And there's a lot of gold to be found.

@GamernurseG Metaphor was literally nominated for goty last year and is much more of a traditional turn based game... Idk where this belief that the genre is dead even came from
Regina Berry is right there if you wanted an example of the uncomfortable treatment of underage girls. One thing that may be pertinent to mention is the character you refer to is a serial killer whose motivation is entirely separate from this unmentioned abuse you reference
@merterenyt@cheribmb@AxeDesu@Mlickles They gave it a mega with base 142 speed and access to nasty plot in legends ZA so I can assure you gren is back to being completely busted.
@Hexxcalibur When ZZZ buffed Ellen they took part of her expanded moveset from the SU equivalent in that game so this actually isn't without precedent in hoyo games.
Seeing this without context I assumed they were wearing some heinous shit and turns out it was just a Makima/denji couples costume. I truly struggle to understand what twitter takes issue with at times.
@SoupsPon@CosmicCyanide@hololive_En@Twitch For as shit as twitch has been run recently at least there haven't been any streamers who have effectively tortured someone to death live on their platform.
@Mutii75014867 AAI2 being ass is not a take I ever expected to see. It's one of the 3 games in the series with practically universal acclaim from the fanbase (TGAA2 and T&T being the others)
@Thunderblunder7 I truly don't understand why people engage so much with games they don't enjoy. It's hilarious that people came into your chat though since you famously give next to no shits about in-game.
Genuinely astounding this guy passed the bar yet is unable to discern reddit fanart from officially sanctioned artwork. Also somehow missing the flair blatantly stating it's the poster's own work.
