Something magical about the best coach of all time managing to get beaten relentlessly by little old Tottenham Hotspur, regardless of how good or bad we were
I would like to personally thank Aston Villa’s C team, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Everton, David Moyes, Roberto De Zerbi, Agent Mateus Fernandes and João Palhinha for making this summer possible.
We will remember them 🕊️
We finished 17th twice and nearly got relegated so forgive me for not giving a shit how much we spend on players. The manager is also getting what he wants. We are having the transfer window of our lives so if you still find ways to moan about it I suggest you are the problem. I’m fucking buzzing
I always hate the narrative from our fanbase about this challenge. Quite clearly it’s a red card offence so the decision was right, but it’s the fact that it’s so inconsistently penalised is the issue.
Much will be written about Vicario over the next few days. Some of it poignant, most of it scathing. But it’s important we remember the role he’s played in our transition from an error-prone, aging Lloris. To the brave, new high-wire act that is “Toni” Kinsky.
He’s a great shot-stopper. Possibly in the top 5 itw. His predominant limitation was always his footwork and passing from the back. Something he assured us he’d improve upon when signing for us (such was our nervousness after Lloris). It was decent for a while, but as the teams’ confidence waned under Ange (and the injuries), as did his already limited ability on the ball. Eventually affecting his short AND long passing.
Worse still, his prevailing hernia issue started to affect his ability to save long/mid-range shots, admittedly directly costing us points last season.
With that said, I can see him smashing it in Italy. He’s had a rest this summer, hernia issues seem resolved, and he’s starting at a legendary club. I’ll go as far as to say some will question his sale/loan at some point (just takes a couple of Kinsky errors lol).
So ‘Ciao, Vic’ 👋 I’ll take your passion and over-exuberance over the disinterest and nonchalance some displayed in our worst season ever.
I’m sure we’ll all be keeping an eye out 🇮🇹
