On 1/24/25 TNSRA voted to leave "X" due to Elon Musk's overtly fascistic behavior. The platform was in decay far before this, however staying on a platform where the owner is speaking at AFD rallies and doing Nazi salutes at the inauguration is inconceivable."

What to make of Trans Day of Remembrance in a time where we are at our most visible, but most vilified? Gender diverse people - especially black and brown people - are profound victims of violence and discrimination.
In the past year 36 transgender people have been murdered in the US. Many of which are black trans women. TNSRA stands with our trans comrades in mourning today, remembering those whom we have lost to violence.
TW: Discussion of homicide in the trans community
On April 19, 2024 Starr Brown, a black trans woman, was murdered in Memphis, TN. Today, trans people across our state are celebrating and mourning the lives of trans people we have lost to violence.
With the election coming to a close TNSRA would like to take a look at what the next 2 years domestically may look like with GOP control in all 3 branches, and what it means for Tennesseans.
Our first pride rally is a wrap and was a wildly positive experience. As a cis-het man, I wanted to make sure to take a backseat approach to this to respect the main reason we were all there, but found the fact that I was handing out pride colored gun stickers to be welcomed by the majority of people I interacted with. Only a few refused stickers, and even they did so very politely. We spoke with many people who expressed to us that they had a very recent change of heart on the topic of gun ownership, and a few who were very excited that we were there.

Rights are non-partisan, but unfortunately the culture surrounding gun ownership has made it perceptively inaccessible and unwelcoming for many folks for far too long. People are nuanced, and unlike what many of these culture war click bait shills say, no group or demographic of people are a monolithic hive mind.

Just as it is essential for us to go to gun rights rallies and events to show people that the gun community is not all the same, it is equally, if not more important to show solidarity at events like this for the same reason. The more we show people that gun ownership is for everyone, the more people will believe it. The more people believe it, the harder it will be for legislators to take away our rights, and the harder it will be for bigotry to exist.
Due to the current political climate, there is a significantly higher interest in gun ownership from people in marginalized communities and we're going to do everything in our power to make sure their first experience talking to gun owners is a positive one. We're going to this event to show our support for our LGBTQ+ community members as A Better Way 2A, and if you live nearby and believe in this cause, we'd love for you to join us. DM us for more info or reach out on our Discord.
Hey, you! Here's a helpful guide if you're wanting to do some research on your own. We'd love to answer questions you might have.

@RubyJackATL West covers Memphis and the most western third of the state. All regions are internal to the state chapter, simply for organizing range days and events in our very long state.
For clarity, we are a state-wide chapter. We have 3 regions, West, Central, East, which span the state and it's major metropolitan areas. Feel free to DM for more info on the chapter!
