March 2026 feels nothing short of surreal. Life handed me its greatest gift on 18th March, when I stepped into motherhood. And just a week later came a moment every journalist dreams of, winning a #RamnathGoenkaAward, and I was fortunate to receive not one but two in a single edition, something I’m still trying to take in.
I was honoured in Investigative Reporting for Operation Illegals, a story that brought to light the journeys of illegal migrants risking their lives to cross the Indo-Bangladesh border in search of stability. I was also recognised in Civic Journalism for our report on how unregulated water usage in Bawana is deepening Delhi’s water crisis.
I’m deeply grateful to the #IndiaTodayGroup & my editors, who constantly push me to dig deeper and tell stories that many would rather keep buried.
For now, I’ll be taking a short pause, to celebrate, to soak it all in, and to nurture my life’s greatest award, my baby girl. But I’ll be back soon, with renewed purpose and responsibility.
Because beyond any award, I owe it to my country and its people to keep telling stories that truly matter. ✨
Watch it to believe it!
#CutMoney taken by those associated with #TMC, being returned to villagers in open fields in #WestBengal to avoid arrest & public outrage.
Actually am quite pleasantly surprised that all these teenagers and their parents were okay to appear in this video. That’s the kind of grit a lot of people haven’t shown. The simple act of speaking up
All that the physical assault on Abhishek Banerjee tell you is this: sarkaarein aayengi jaayengi, paartiyan banengi bigdengi, Bengal ka culture nahin badlega, political culture bhi nahin

Ghaziabad: In the Indirapuram area near the Hindon Barrage, two children were riding a bicycle carrying a sack. Mayor Sunita Dayal stopped them and, without any evidence, falsely accused them of having beef in the sack and planning to throw it into the Hindon River. After this, Mayor Sunita Dayal called the police and instructed them to take the children into custody, and also threatened the officers that if they let the children go, she would have them suspended. The police seized the sack and took the children and one man into custody.
The terribly regressive saying ‘aurat hi aurat ki sabse badi dushman hai’ has a new-age version in India — ‘journalist hi journalist ka sabse bada dushman hai’.
All day on Twitter I see journalists attack each other — sometimes reasonably founded, but often spiteful & unnecessary. It is our job to question everything and everyone, including each other, but to keep publicly running down your own kind because of political differences is a self-defeating exercise.
We need to ask the uncomfortable question!
Why are abuse & dowry always discussed as though accountability begins and ends with one household alone, when entire families & social structures enable the silence, compromise and participation that keep these systems alive?
Sorry, but ZERO sympathy for parents who ask their daughters to ‘adjust’ despite multiple red flags.
Twisha was assaulted by her husband on their honeymoon. Dowry-type demands. Anguished texts.
“Adjust”.
My interview with Twisha Sharma’s father:
The Koh-i-Noor diamond was owned by one 'Shudra' Dynasty, Kakatiyas, ruling Warangal in the 12th-14th centuries. Extracted from the Kollur mine, it was likely installed as the left eye of the Goddess Bhadrakali at Bhadrakali Temple. It was taken by Delhi Sultanate forces in 1310.
A British doctor stranded in India for 4 months over an anti-BJP FB post finally boarded a flight home Tuesday.
Before leaving, he spoke to @thaver_mohamed, looking visibly relieved, but still asking the Q that has haunted him: "How can a 12-word post attract an FIR & LOC?"
Rs 50 lakh in legal fees. 4 months away from his children. Nearly lost his job. Read his story: https://t.co/fof6USO0uc via @IndianExpress
Will someone please inform the Indian government and its functionaries that these PR campaigns demonstrating how austere they’re being, is just downright embarrassing. I’ve seen at least 4 government ministers being filmed driving along in one or two cars.
All it tells us is how abnormal their behavior has been for all these years because they would have been perfectly fine in one or two cars.
To turn this into “news” is just so narcissistic.
