Ask your database a question in plain English — get the answer as a chart in seconds. No SQL. And it refuses to guess: if your question is unclear, it asks first. ChatPlotDB — now in private beta.

Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use.
Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.
Anyone can call an LLM API. Turning that into something a business can actually trust is the hard part.
For the last few months we have been building ChatPlotDB — ask any database a question in plain English, and it writes the SQL, runs it, and returns the answer with charts. No SQL required.
But the real thing we are building is the agent harness underneath it — the layer that turns a capable model into a dependable product. A few lessons, learned the hard way:
→ The model is a component, not the product. The harness — tools, verification, guardrails — is the product.
→ Make it ask before it assumes. A system that pauses on an ambiguous question beats one that confidently answers the wrong one.
→ Verify every answer against ground truth. "Looks right" is exactly how silent mistakes ship.
→ Be deterministic where it matters. Orchestrate the steps — don't pray the model remembers them.
Reliability isn't a nice-to-have. In production, it's the whole product.
Building in public. More soon.
