I had the opportunity of presenting the results of our study on self-transfers and loss to follow-up from HIV care in Southwestern Uganda @HEPITUITAH dissemination conference @MbararaUST held on 7th July 2022.
Our work at the @Medxmentor, which supports the holistic development of undergraduate graduate health students through structured mentorship, has been published in Discover Education.

@BOU_Official How can reinvest my coupons in the primary market?
Secondly I am requesting to know why the bonds interest rate fluctuates on the secondary market?
To be rich in Uganda, you need a Networth of $1.1M ( UGX 4.49 Billion). Here is why?
In the Finsense class, we want you to aspire to be rich and so defining it gives you a goal to pursue. By the way its okay to be rich. Often people want us to apologize for ambitiously pursuing wealth but I am no longer buying into that crap. Being Rich allows you the enjoyment the finer things of life and the peace of knowing that you can ably take care of your family and loved ones. It also allows you to support causes close to your heart. Can you imagine what it would feel like to wake up and go to work knowing that all your needs are taken care of and barring some gross misfortune you will never be broke in life again?
Since we fairly can agree on what poverty, its time to define what being rich looks like! As the people's Professor of Streetnomics, here is why you need $1,100,00 in Networth to be rich in Uganda. The Math begins.
To be considered rich you must own a home of not less than UGX 500M. To put this in context, this is a median priced bungalow in many decent residential areas of Uganda. You should be able to buy 2 used cars of UGX 120M each (for you and your spouse) without taking debt. I have assumed that you have 4 school going kids paying UGX 5M each in school fees and requirements per term. The total annual cost for this comes to UGX 60M a year or 5M per month.
Lets us also assume other living costs of UGX 10M per month and you are close to needing UGX 15M in monthly living expenses. Add another 10M to cover healthcare, emergencies, vacations, support to extended family and a few luxuries. Your monthly total living costs would thefore need to be UGX 25M. However there is a big catch: To be rich, you should be able to generate this income from passive income sources like Real Estate, Portfolio Income etc and not a salary or active income.
Active income is where you only make money when you show up and must surrender your time and labour to make it. So to be rich you must be financially independent. In my book The Great Financial Rebuild, I define financial independence as having assets that are equal to 150 months (12.5 years) of your monthly living expenses.
Using this parameter you would need Assets of UGX 4.49 Billion to support this lifestyle. If we add the value you have in your home at UGX 500M and in your cars at UGX 240M, we arrive at a Net worth of UGX 4.49 Billion or approximately $1,100,00. So if you are worth this much or more, you can be considered rich in Uganda and congratulations!
For comparison purposes, you are considered rich in the USA if you have a Networth of $2.2M according to Schwab's 2023 Modern Wealth Survey.
Next time you want to call a Ugandan rich, check to see how they measure up to this parameter.

Today, a team of medical professionals from the different medical professional bodies; @TheUMAofficial , PSU, Nurses and midwives Union, Medical Interns and SHO representatives led by @ekwaroobuku held a meeting with the finance minister Hon. Matia Kasaijja
@PNyamutoro 👏🌟 Kudos to @PNyamutoro for highlighting the importance of increasing the numbers of medical interns and its positive impact on narrowing the health worker-to-citizen ratio. #DeployMedicalInterns
🔥📢 Urgency is of utmost importance when it comes to addressing the delayed commencement of medical internship and the welfare of medical interns. It's crucial that swift action is taken to resolve the pressing issues raised by this report.

Parliament is also expected to receive the report from the Health Committee on the petition about the delayed commencement of medical internship and welfare of medical interns.
Engagement between @MinofHealthUG, @mofpedU and @Parliament_Ug is crucial to bring clarity to our deployment. We appreciate the Speaker's goodwill towards our payment and deployment. However, it's essential to address the confusion surrounding our cohort and start date.
Today we set out to meet the speaker again as far as our internship is concerned. She has very good will for our payment and she is pushing for our payment and deployment. Though I noticed there’s general confusion on which cohort we are and when we were supposed to have started
It's imperative that action accompanies these words. Time is of the essence. Our future, mental health and the well-being of our healthcare system are at stake.

Medical interns and doctors deserve transparency and a clear commitment to their well-being. These health professionals are essential pillars of our healthcare system. @InternpharmUg@Parliament_Ug
It is deeply concerning that the plight of medical interns and senior house officers has been ignored. We demand immediate action from the government to provide a concrete and specific date for resolving this issue. The time for vague promises is over. #DeployMedicalInterns
Minister Matia Kasaija has revealed plans by Gov't to resolve the plight of medical interns and doctors designated as senior house officers, in view of their important role in supporting the healthcare system.
He said, "In the meantime, I have provided Shs. 22.6 Billion to clear outstanding arrears for medical interns and senior house officers."
