I had to REALLY think about it, since both scenarios seem so fine to me. I'll stick to the first thought that struck my mind (shipping instincts, lol?):

Chris likes physical affection more.
Leon likes verbal affection more.

I do think Chris is a touch-starved guy. Mostly, it probably has something to do with his military experience and current occupation too. In the military, he might show affection to guys through touches (nothing serious, just a pat on the shoulder, maximum — a short hug), however, the military tends to suppress such behavior, even in platonic relationships. Then there’s him being a Captain, where he is supposed to be an inspiring and supportive figure, yet — to keep his distance. And since I am 90% sure he's an extrovert, he probably feels a HUGE lack of it. That's why he gives bear hugs to his female friends (hello, Jill) and Claire, or rubs their hair — between women and in interactions between men and women, it's kinda more socially acceptable.

And since I headcanon Chris as a gay guy, he desperately needs male touch. And... Leon is just perfect for it, as both a giver and receiver. I think Leon doesn't hesitate when interacting with the muscular parts of Chris's body, while Chris definitely likes touching Leon's face.

As for Leon, he's canonically a good listener, however, I really like tying a praise kink to him — since he's rarely verbally rewarded for his work + tends to feel guilty about the things he does. I believe, for him, it's important both to be seen — to know that he makes a difference — and, at the same time, to be praised for his own existence. Like, he doesn't have to do anything, just being himself is enough to hear a good word, especially from his partner Chris.

Probably, before they got into an established relationship (I headcanon everything started from fwb), they consciously felt cautious of people's reactions: firstly, due to homophobia; secondly, due to the fact that they didn't understand what they were to each other; and thirdly, because neither of them was used to such gestures. HOWEVER, they still subconsciously did them: a simple touch, a pat, holding hands while crossing the road, etc. Eventually, closer to the re8 era... I think they finally allow themselves that. Mostly because they're both huge men, and with their battle skills, hardly anyone can do anything to them just because they decided to walk down the street holding hands. But also because these gestures have already become a part of their routine.

Something like that... Please share a fic once it's written, if you're comfortable doing so, ofc. I am also now curious what other Chreon fans said hehehe.

For me, it’s always so hard to choose, since I love every version of him: in the movies, younger and older, brighter and more depressed.

I’ll stick to the ones I think about the most:

re6 Leon — the first one I got to know, at his prime age, with the most exquisite style and such beautiful hair. His features are so fine too, and I’m really happy he still has his scar from Krauser on his cheek.

re9 Leon — he’s new, but already breaking all the records. I will forever thank the women of Capcom for such a gift, since he’s one of the most beautiful men I’ve seen in my life. And his aging features are just gorgeous too: tiny wrinkles, darker hair yet with some rare silver in it, his stubble, neck lines — everything. Every detail of him is just perfect, and I’m so happy to live in a timeline where I get to witness it.

Леон це той чоловік, який попробує будь-який вид спорту та пересування: лижі, сноуборд, серфінг, параплани та дельтаплани, він буде стрибати з мотузкою з моста, пробувати усі види скейтборду. Яхти, катери, гольфкари, будь-що що має і не має колес.

Будь-який їх відпочинок складається з того, що Кеннеді шукає новий спосіб отримати адреналін, а Редфілд спостерігає за цим і здригається від кожного пориву вітру. Більшість з цих «розваг» допомагають Леону в роботі, а Кріс… просто Кріс. Він буде лежати в басейні з підігрівом на криші готелю, виглядаючи свого чоловіка, який не послухав його і поїхав на смугу для професіоналів на лижах.

Але бувають дні коли Леон просто хоче відпочити в ліжку та підзарядитись, коли його чоловік лежить поруч. Йому потрібно просто торкатися — обіймати, закинути ногу на стегно, положити руку на груди. Кеннеді може шістнадцять годин валятись в простирадлах і дрімати, а коли Редфілду потрібно відійти в туалет чи взяти щось перекусити, то отримує розгніваний погляд.

І Кріс знає, що середини не буде. Або серцевий напад через хвилювання, або пролежні від заборони рухатись.

— Ти гучно дивишся на мене, — Леон бубонить в його біцепс, втомлений вчорашнім підйомом в гори.

Точніше, на вулкан. Йому захотілося піднятись на Етну, поки Редфілд виглядав його зі схилів готелю біля виноградників та запивав вином хвилювання.

— Ти колись вбʼєш мене своїми бажаннями, — вкотре повторює Кріс і чує нахабний тихий сміх, — що? Тобі смішно з цього?

— Яка відпустка без драйву, стариганю?

Редфілд сміється і притягує його в обійми, чим викликає незадоволений стогін. Буде знати, як обирати підйом пішки замість канатної дороги.

— У мене ще є тиждень на те, щоб показати, який я «старигань», — шепоче Кріс йому на вухо, — треба кудись подіти твою енергію.

Леон ліниво відвертається і ховає задоволену посмішку в подушки, відчуваючи вагу свого чоловіка на тілі, яке болить у всіх місцях одночасно.
