In Number Talks, students solve subtraction problems using a strategy called Counting On! To find the difference, students start with the subtrahend on a number line and add the amount of jumps needed to get to the minuend ๐
Place Value Face Off allows students to identify the number of tens and ones in a given number, grade two students explore hundreds. Students are able to practice โreasonablenessโ by estimating how far apart the numbers are โForty-two is greater than twenty-four by about twentyโ
Students estimate, measure, and record the capacity of an object using a variety of non-standard units. Some students were so excited that they wanted to take a picture of their work and upload it to their portfolio! ๐ท๐

โWhat do you notice?โ, โWhat do you wonder?โ Students are learning about time to the hour using a number line. They are also playing a game called One Minute to Win, where students roll a die over and over for a minute and count the number of 3s they get!
Students are demonstrating the ability to read digital and analogue clocks through a scavenger hunt. They are also learning about adding two and three-digit numbers using a place value chart in Number Routines!
Guided writing allows for students to see the stages of the writing process. Small group instruction allows for the teacher to provide individual descriptive feedback. Happy ๐!
