@datadoge69420@jen_keesmaat You’re happy with the converse argument which is you pay per kilometer to drive on a road. You cannot remove transit subsidy and not pay your true cost of using the city’s roadways.
@georgebell The scope of work is too extensive to be thorough and have the RFP be delivered in November, for completion in the time frame. The RFP will be a padded guess for cost and timeline.
@GuberEatz@georgebell A decongestion cordon round down town (The Don, Bloor, Shaw, Lake Ontario.
Pay per use, a concept dear to conservatives, for using the Gardiner, DVP, Allan and Blackcreek.
An annual levy on every commercial off street parking space (not dependent on use).
@generalthemoon@AlexanderGlista Long Branch too, and it is taking forever. We’ll still have substandard width platforms when it’s done. At the current rate it is a good three years off.
@Metrolinx in a car with a failed outlet, & after asking me multiple questions about my WiFi experience, customer service told me “…GO Transit is not required to provide power outlets on our coaches…”. VIA manages it, the motor from coach Fort Mac can, airlines.
Do better.
@internetvin@RM_Transit You star by applying SCOOT traffic signal control to the streetcar & LRT lines. While you procure the expansion you go & get a crash course in real time information from RTIG in the UK. They have a list of systems that work with SCOOT to give intelligent signal priority & info.
@JohnDoe3564@RealPaulRoss Streetcar:
Kingston Rd feeding into the tracks on Adelaid and Richmond. Run them west to Bathurst. Just have to worknout the best option to turn the cars. 4/4
@JohnDoe3564@RealPaulRoss Streetcar: Castle Frank terminus, Parliament to Front to, Wellington. West to Strachan, south to E Liberty St into Liberty St and west to Dufferin and the Dufferin loop. 3/n
@JohnDoe3564@RealPaulRoss Split the revenue in thirds. First to run the scheme, second to the road maintenance budget, third to the TTC capital and revenue budgets.
Reduce the number of off ramps on the Gardiner, kerp the on ramps. 2/n
@JohnDoe3564@RealPaulRoss It is an easily fixed problem:
Create a decongestion zone indide the Don River, Bloor St, Shaw, & Lake Ontario.
Fix the price, raise it each year automatically by the average of the previous 5 years of inflation. Put a surcharge on every off street parking space. 1/n
@RM_Transit@alex_i_s_@KalinDokis When? Why?
Another step away when the political interference got too stupid.
Where is he now? Tapped by Andy Burnham to lead GBR possibly?
@univrsle@RM_Transit Not arguing it could be better, but it’s nowhere near the atrocious way-finding signage of @Metrolinx at Union Station. There’s no clear step free route signed from the TTC. The signage at decision points is risible. The elevators from the retail level to circulation are hidden.
@HauntingRaven@AlexanderGlista Just so we understand, are you yourself if First Nation, Inuit or Metis descent or are you descended from first generation immigrants? Or maybe you’re a bot.
Full disclosure.
@Brickinthewall9@RM_Transit Not at all, when initiated the Flying Scotsman ran London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverly non stop. With water troughs and a connection from the tender to the first carriage to allow for crew change.
Only recently, has a stop in Newcastle been added.
@Etherlander@fezbpu@RM_Transit It can be cheaper if passenger rail were subsidized at the same level as roads.
Or you could internalize the cost of roads to the users, the fastest way to reduce congestion and improve local air quality.
Either option would need courage from politicians.
@Etherlander@RM_Transit You pandrol clips & investment in the very best of the track lining equipment. Not forgetting owning a dedicated rail testing set see the ‘Flying Banana’ used in the UK.
Of all the track Metrolinx owns you might hope the “showcase” at Sunnyside was fast & smooth, but no
