Please find below the latest newsletter (No.8) which is currently being delivered to local residents and businesses. This includes information on the planned overnight road closures commencing on 4th February 2019

During the St Clements Way scheme we have managed to build relationships with Wilmington Grammar School, Dartford Grammar School, Knockhall Primary School & St Mary's Church. They have taken advantage of our offer of free office furniture & deliveries of furniture started today

Some minor road lining works will be completed tonight Wed 27th Mar where required. These planned night works will be completed between 22:00 – 06:00 & there will be localised lane management.

An enthusiastic new member of the team! Today 3yr old Fletcher visited the site compound to get 'up close' with the plant machinery. He has a passion for Diggers & Dumpers ! Whenever the opportunity arose he spent time watching the team and plant machinery complete various tasks

@SGTownCouncil1 @fog464 I have responded to an earlier tweet on this subject from this resident highlighting the landscaping plans still to be implemented.

@fog464 @SGTownCouncil1 Landscaping work is not fully completed. The roundabouts will also be seeded and have a selection of bulbs planted. The bulbs will be planted in September which is the correct season for planting.

The landscapers have now started planting the hedge and shrubs in front of the acoustic fence - this is going to make a pleasing, visual improvement to the area in the coming months.

@Trundlez There are no cameras installed as part of this scheme. I would suggest that any traffic violations you witness are reported to the appropriate authority as contractors we have no authority in this regard.

Works to complete road lining & ancillary activities are scheduled for Thurs 7th Mar from 20:00 – 06:00. Traffic management will be in some areas & involve lane closures. Temp 2 way traffic lights deployed on London Rd E for stud installation on ped crossing near McDonalds.

Welcome news for residents using Steele Ave the new traffic signals at the junction with St Clements Way are now operational. In addition the new bus lane is open for buses to utilise.

@kerstinspeters Road lining contractors have been booked for Thursday night when works in additional areas can also be completed & lane closures can be implemented. As mentioned the area has been segregated early to stop cars parking & preventing work happening at the designated time.

@kerstinspeters This area has blocked off early prior to lining work for parking bays to be completed on Thurs 7th Mar night. Coning of areas in the past has been ineffective - with cars parking in the coned area preventing the work from being completed.

@KevinPe80926622 This was only a temporary position for the pedestrian lights to enable surfacing works to be completed on the traffic island. This work has now been completed & the lights are now re-positioned.

Landscaping work has started in various areas of the St Clements Way scheme which will add a pleasant, finished look to the scheme. In several locations verges have been prepared & seeded. In addition trees are being planted & once completed hedging & shrubs will be added.

@cantharella The site team carry out general housekeeping associated with our construction works across the extent of the site.

@KumiteDan The installation of cameras is not within our scope of works - this would be the responsibility I suspect of the agency responsible to traffic control in the area.

New traffic signals at junction of Steele Ave & St Clements Way are anticipated to be switched on during Wed 6th Mar. This will enable the bus lane to be opened when the signals are operational. We urge residents to approach with caution until familiar with new junction.

There will 2 nights work involving lane closures on Thurs 28 Feb & Fri 1 Mar from 20:00 - 06:00 to complete activities including road lining. Traffic management will be deployed in a variety of areas & temporary lights on London Rd E. Works are dependent on weather conditions.
