Playgroup have had an eventful week this week. From celebrating Dewi Sant all week, with daffodil portrait competition, pancakes for Shrove Tuesday, then finishing off with World Book Day. Da iawn pawb

The children wanted to finish the term off with the wheels on the bus nursery rhyme. We had lots of fun over the last 2 weeks, making a large bus, acting out in the bus station, making marks with different tyre prints and even going out on a real bus to the park.

Playgroup have been helping Humpty Dumpty this week, by building him a 2 colour pattern wall, matching numbers to piece him together, threading, making a wall out of playdough, playing with the Kings horses and the Kings men, and learning about floating and sinking objects.
To celebrate Year of the Rabbit, the children had a surprise visit from Pepper and Peanut who are the pet bunnies of one of our staff members. The children were very gentle stroking them and when giving them some treats. Well done Playgroup.

In our PE session this week, the children moved around like all the animals in the Chinese zodiac, they used red and gold materials to do a dragon dance while some children joined in playing the drums.

The children also enjoyed tasting different Chinese food this week. They tried very hard to use chopsticks to eat their noodles. They also enjoyed prawn toast, spring rolls and prawn crackers.

Playgroup have had a busy week celebrating Chinese New Year. They made Chinese lanterns, used chopsticks & Chinese spoons to fill rice and noodles into bowls, made food in the Chinese takeaway/restaurant role play, made marks in red glitter using chop sticks.

This half term playgroup are learning about nursery rhymes. This week was βtwinkle twinkle little starβ. The children created stars in different ways, and in PE they used their body to move like stars and created a large star using different materials.

Playgroup have been celebrating Diwali this week. The children helped to make decorations for our display, dressed up in different costumes, and enjoyed lots of activities filled with lights and colours. They also enjoyed tasting different Indian food for snack.

Playgroup have been on an Autumn walk over to the field to look for different sized and different coloured leaves, and other Autumn objects to collect in their baskets. The children had lots of fun and were very sensible crossing the road safely. Well done Playgroup.
Part of the new curriculum and following the lead and interest of the child, we have learned about aeroplanes and going on holiday. One of the children shared her holiday experience, which inspired the other children to want to make aeroplanes. Lots of imagination was used.
Playgroup had a Polish session the other day. Our Polish staff member brought in Polish books, activities, flag and poster to teach the children all about Poland. They sang polish songs and learned how to say hello in Polish- CzeΕΔ.

Playgroup had a fun afternoon today celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee. They made bunting decorations, decorated cakes, made crowns and flags, then finished off with a jubilee party and of course a cup of tea
