A much colder morning than was expected for our first cross country of 2025 today! The temperature didn’t stop the really dedicated children from taking part and really showing determination and perseverance. The Year 3 and 4 children have raced; just the 5s and 6s to go now!
Last week, Year 2 had an exciting LIVE webinar with award-winning author and illustrator Rob Biddulph! He shared his amazing picture books, including his latest, I Follow the Fox. The class also joined in a fun, step-by-step draw-along, learning to create one of Rob’s characters.
A group of Y3 had fun today developing skills in activities such as throwing, catching, strength & skipping. Well done to the children for representing us so well & thank you to the staff who give up their free time in order to organise & provide children with opportunities!
Year 2 joined a live webinar hosted by @MantaTrust, exploring the ‘Secrets of the Ocean.’ Marine biologist Jen shared amazing facts about manta rays and the class loved the quizzes! They even had a question answered live! A highlight of #GCW2024! @STEMAmbassadors#GreenCareers
Yesterday we held our KS1 and KS2 Boccia events. It was great to see so many students taking part and learning new skills.
KS1 Winners @StMargaretsCEP2
KS2 Winners @BurbageJuniors
Thank you to our fantastic leaders from @Hastings_PE for refereeing the matches.
Well done Isla and Max in Y5 who won the local Rotary art and writing competitions. We welcomed John, from the Rotary Club, into class on Monday to present them with certificates and prizes. Isla’s has also been selected for the next round, up against artists from other counties!
All the children in KS1 & KS2 got to try out their circus skills today with the help of our guests from King’s Lodge. The smiles and fun they had said it all! Thank you to our visitors for making it so enjoyable for all!
A group of children participated in the international Primary Maths Challenge today; it was most definitely a challenge! They thoroughly enjoyed it and work together superbly to compete. We now have a nervous wait for a week to see where they came! #hertsmaths
The Year 5 Maths Challenge Team are nervous but very excited, ready for the International Maths Challenge Competition! One round already completed, three live, timed rounds to go. Good luck to them! #hertsmaths
Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed making and then delivering Christmas cards to people in the community, trying to sing some carols and spreading festive cheer around the village this afternoon. 🎅🏼 🎶 🎄
Year 2 had a brilliant time today learning about carbon monoxide with help from @safetyseymour There was lots of important learning happening and fun activities to teach them about staying safe in their homes 🙂
🌳3️⃣0️⃣ new trees planted today in our school ground courtesy of the Woodland Trust, Mrs Danks and the school eco committee and our fabulous Forest School children 🌳
Year 6 have really enjoyed their ‘Painting and Collage’ art unit and today brought their own still life models in from home. We saw some fabulous art skills in action: cubism, balance, observational drawing, painting, collage. Well done Y6 🎨🧑🏻🎨🎨 @Curriculum_USP
Y5 enjoyed writing book reviews & applying for their #bluepeterbadge today. Lots of children used our class ‘book talk’ books and some shared their love of other, different texts. We’ve got our fingers crossed that Blue Peter will like them! #lovereading
A FABULOUS start to the cross country this morning with this young man getting in the top 10 at Mallory Park! A very muddy morning but that didn’t stop him! #perseverance
Well done to our fabulous cross country runners who all turned up to the new course at Mallory Park this morning. They all showed fabulous perseverance & determination. We had some super results and are proud of all of them!
