In Re we read the story of Jesus gathering his 12 disciples. We used role play to retell the story and answered questions on why He chose them and how the men might have felt.
In RE we have been exploring Jesus being a special friend to everyone. We thought about our special friends and how we can be great friends to one another.
A surprise arrival in Year one this morning, as an old brown suitcase was discovered! After working out who it could belong to, we then found lots of hidden books dating back as far as 1972.
Art Club. In art club we have drawn and enlarged part of a poppy and used oil pastels to colour the red petals and black seeds. We are going to join our pictures together to make a whole poppy and display them on our board. They are going to look so effective!
In RE we are learning about God and Creation. We had the chance to make our own creations using bricks and other building resources. We had such fun making them. We explained what they were and how we felt when we had made them. It was great!
Repeated patterns, problem solving and reasoning on the agenda this morning in Year one. Children always amaze us with how they take what they have been taught and apply it in so many surprising ways!
Kick starting our Bears topic with making one of their favourite foods... porridge! We measured the weight and amounts to make the porridge. Then we had to make it again because SOMEBODY ATE OUR PORRIDGE! We wonder who?
We have been doing some drama in class this week. Acting out the story of Mr Majeika our class book this term. Here we have freeze framed the different characters at different parts of the story.
Year 2 have been enjoying European day of languages. We have learnt to count to 20 and say the days of the week in Greek. We also got to taste some Greek food. We had pita bread, flat bread,olives feta cheese and falafel. We enjoy most of the taste but not the olives.
