Year 6 Sustainability Day was a great success - from earth bench building to bee hotels and hedgehog houses, recycled tyre planters and wildflower seed bombs to a mini rainwater pond, the girls took charge of their projects and mucked in (!!) beautifully! @StSwithunsYear6
The co-curricular gardeners were out, despite the weather, this afternoon. Harvesting strawberries and radishes and collecting soil for our wildflower #bee bombs. Tonka the #StSwithunsTortoise was pleased that another sowing of rocket plants has been made. #StSwithunsItsWhoWeAre
Year 3 loved learning about the butterflies and moths, wild flowers and other invertebrates at Magdalen Hill Down with the amazing team from Butterfly Conservation during their Wilderness Afternoon this week @StSwithunsYear3 @savebutterflies#nature#learning#ItsWhoWeAre
The @StSwithunsPrep@OutdoorClassDay has been a huge success! We have enjoyed activities which have taken us out into the fresh air and have called on their scientific, geographical and technological knowledge. The rain couldn't dampen our spirits at all; what a great day!
The tension and exhilaration of @OutdoorClassDay ! Tech skills, HPL, teamwork and resilience all coming together to create success, well done @StSwithunsYear3
Our budding chemists in @StSwithunsRecpt have been creating bottle rockets. This @OutdoorClassDay we're not just heading outdoors; we're heading for outer space!
We're still outside and celebrating @OutdoorClassDay ! @StSwithunsYear3 are out on the back field using compass headings and working as a team to find hidden words and messages.
@StSwithunsYear1 aren't about to let the rain stop them having fun! They're wrapped up warm and making the most of our grounds this afternoon on #OutdoorClassroomDay.
In one of their activities today @StSwithunsYear2 have been scouring the grounds for micro-details that they may not have spotted before, and using iPads to record their findings. Lots of @OutdoorClassDay fun being had across the school!
Our @StSwithunsNrsry children have also been getting involved in @OutdoorClassDay , creating some very beautiful egg-dropping devices. Well done, Nursery!
These @StSwithunsYear6 girls are justifiably delighted with their successful egg-cushioning device! Their lucky egg survived the long drop from upstairs and lives to be dropped again; amazing team work and #HPL skills at work!
@StSwithunsYear5 are being resilient on this rather windy @OutdoorClassDay morning! They are learning about grid references, working together and using their #HPL skills to make their way across the maze.
Prep Pioneers #camp Day 2 - scavenger hunting, pine cone mobiles, damper bread twists baked over the #campfire, lots more muddy play and ever-more elaborate tarp dens, finished off with an all-important #egghunt!π£π«π¦π³π»π¦π
