A day of great scholarship at @RUPoliSci Emerging Scholars Conference. Three fantastic panels. Here is @issaBlackWoman using Twitter data to interrogate and expand ideas around ideology among Black women elites.
@profTLe @JinXunGoh @LindsayMayka Like many of the other respondents mentioned, I think colleges can actively strip the file of racist comments and not force faculty to go through the bodily distress of reading this stuff.
@JinXunGoh I’m so sorry you have to read and “reflect” on such hateful comments. I’ve definitely been there feeling terrible threat responses. It shouldn’t have to be this way.
@TomPepinsky Norms vary but ppl often believe the way they were taught is the *correct* way and assume negative intent. Because norms vary so much, I wish ppl would give the benefit of the doubt more. Off to spend 20 mins deciding if I should start my email with “dear, hello or hi”…
@hakeemjefferson I can’t backtrack to the original post. Would you mind linking? Why is academic Twitter Ike a violent traumatic soap opera all the time? 🙁
In remembrance of #MLKDay's criticisms of parties, we revisit @LevanCarrie and @StaceyAGreene study on how anti-Black racial attitudes drive partisan vote choices. They find racial attitudes are strong enough to overcome party loyalties. https://t.co/slzU9VNxo4
I wrote a @monkeycageblog post discussing a key finding from my forthcoming article in PS with Rick Lau about the 1/6 GOP electoral objections. That article is going to be my first journal article and I’m the first author. So celebrating lots of firsts

@StaceyAGreene and I have new article out in @PGI_WPSA check it out! Undermining the party: anti-black attitudes, presidential vote choice, and split-ticket voting among white voters: Politics, Groups, and Identities: Vol 0, No 0 https://t.co/JKLgYgRjzB
Looking forward to being in conversation with @aaolomi@zarenaaslami on Afghanistan. If you're not familiar with the history or how we got here, this is an important discussion that can help contextualize our current situation. #Afghanistan
I’m a proud refugee, I wore blue jeans and had pig tails when I flew to the U.S. escaping conflict. I was almost 5. We have a chance to make the transition supportive or catastrophic. We’ve done better, this is unacceptable.
