Eyewitnesses moments after the shooting at the White House correspondents dinner @whca @latimes

Shots were fired about 30 feet away from me, as about a dozen people filed into the restroom.

One off-camera witness told me she saw a weapon, while these individuals told me they did not see a weapon

I was about 30 feet from where the individual was shot at the @whca dinner. I did not see what happened, only hard the gunfire ring out.

Amid the chaos, I was trapped in a restroom with 15 other individuals, including secret service personnel.

Individuals threw themselves onto the tile floor of the restroom. Many sheltered in bathroom stalls and behind walls.

About 10 minutes after shots were heard at the event, I was asked to evacuate a restroom where I was sheltering. Secret service members shouted at us to exit the ballroom quickly, while most event attendees sheltered at their tables. Many said they didn’t hear shots

As I was exiting, I saw the body of what appeared to be a dead man surrounded by about a dozen Secret Service members. The body was near the entrance of the ballroom, and there was a toppled metal detector about 10 feet away.

People were shouting and running toward the exit, as secret service forced us out of the ballroom.

Multiple shots were fired at the White House correspondents dinner with president Trump in attendance.

I heard 5-6 shots ring out, shortly before observing a dead body surrounded by a dozen secret service officers.

According to multiple on-scene witnesses, an unknown man dashed toward the dining area and was met with gun fire.

One hotel security guard said she observed the individual with a firearm. Several other witnesses said they were unsure if the individual was in possession of a weapon.
