(Get-Command <your function>).ScriptBlock.Ast.Body.paramblock.Parameters | ft Name, DefaultValue
will give you the default values of a function

@TobiasPSP Group-Object is very generic an pays a performance penalty for being able to handle heterogeneous pipeline input. You can of course create custom solutions that perform better if you limit the problem space. Just beware of the differences. Test with inputs like "1", 1
