We’ve been waiting more than two weeks. Support isn’t giving any meaningful updates, and we’re blocked.

Google just demoed the end of App Store Optimization, and my app was the example.

At I/O this week they showed Play's new AI app discovery: you describe what you need, the assistant recommends apps. The demo query was about scuba diving fish ID. Seabook came up first.

Here's the part worth sitting with. Right below me was an app with a higher rating and ten times the downloads. The AI still put Seabook on top. Whatever it's reading, it isn't the same signals we've optimized for the last decade.

If app discovery moves to AI, the game changes for every indie who couldn't out-spend the big listings.
