“While big corporations and rich developers continue to receive handouts, Black and Brown communities have been forced to deal with the fallout,” said Johnson. “We can’t continue to allow profits to be placed over people. This referendum is our chance to say that public transportation is a necessity, not a luxury.” — @tequilamjohnson #ShiftNashville https://t.co/iwBFI7XyLr
#Nashville relies on working people and working people rely on transit. A vote for better transit on Nov. 5 is a vote for a better quality of life for working people. 🚌 🚦🚶🏾♀️🚲 #ShiftNashville#RealPeople#VoteFor
Transit offers Davidson County a unique opportunity to connect our communities, create more accessible neighborhoods, and build a city that works for everyone. Let’s support a future where getting around Nashville is safe, convenient, and open to all. https://t.co/mj5KTHOxdL
“This referendum is about more than buses and routes,” said @tequilamjohnson. “It’s about justice. It’s about making sure our people can get to work, to school, and to the doctor without being pushed out of the city they helped build.” #ShiftNashville https://t.co/dQjUhOLO1j
#ShiftNashville has been out talking to bus riders & the #1 thing people want to see is 24/7 + more frequent service. The working people who are the backbone of our tourism industry deserve a safe, quick & affordable way to get to work around the ⏰ On Nov. 5 we have the opportunity to invest in those who make #Nashville the "It City" 🗳️🚍 👩🏾🍳
#ShiftNashville is out here spreading the word about transit and how this historic investment can create affordable housing, good jobs, thriving small businesses, and better public transportation for working families if done right. It won't be easy, but when we come together as a city to fight for the things our communities need, WE WIN!
#ShiftNashville hit the doors in Antioch on Saturday to talk to voters about how the transit plan could shorten their commutes and joining our fight to make sure this historic investment benefits Black, Brown & immigrant communities.https://t.co/QWOSPqONcs
"Safety has become my biggest concern. I’ve been robbed, I’ve been threatened, and I’ve had to move to a different neighborhood just to be safe. The mayor’s office needs to hear that and think about it." You shouldn't have to pay more just to feel safe in your own home. Period.

Half of workers in #Nashville don't make a living wage according to Metro Social Services' most recent Community Needs Evaluation 😤
If the transit plan passes on Nov. 5th, it will create an estimated 60,000 jobs.
Making sure these are good union and public sector jobs would create pathways out of poverty for our neighbors who want a better life for themselves and their families.
It's time to build careers while we build the city! It's time to #ShiftNashville!
We've been waiting for this! Early voting has already begun and runs through October 31. Don't forget to vote on the transit referendum. It's the last item on ballot 🗳️ 🚍 🤩 #ShiftNashville
