The report “Nanoplastics. A Systematic Risk Analysis for Human Health, Ecosystems, and the Environment” is unique in that it goes beyond data on the scale of plastic pollution or individual harmful effects. It helps clarify the central issue: what specifically makes nanoplastics so active in their interactions with living systems, including the human body.
The report demonstrates that the problem lies not only in the volume of plastic in the environment, but in the fact that, after breaking down into micro- and nanoscale particles, plastic effectively changes its behavior and properties. These properties enable plastic particles to interact with proteins, engage with cell membranes, tissues, and the body’s protective barriers. For this reason, the report proposes viewing nanoplastics not as passive “plastic dust,” but as a new class of anthropogenic particles with their own physicochemical activity.

📣Quantum Balkan Initiative Launched in 🇦🇱Tirana

On April 24, 2026, the Institute for Advance Studies and Cooperation (IASC) – World Changers Summit hosted the Quantum Balkan Initiative event at the Polytechnic University of Tirana. The summit established the Quantum Balkan Initiative (QBI) as a regional platform to position Southeastern Europe within the global quantum ecosystem, bringing together representatives from government, academia, and industry.

Prof. Gabriele Pao-Pei Andreoli, President of IASC and founder of the World Changers Summit, emphasized the importance of responsible innovation, cooperation, and investment in secure infrastructures.

Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Albania, highlighted the significance of launching the initiative in Albania and the role of smaller nations in shaping future technological development.
Discussions focused on quantum-resilient security, infrastructure, investment, and human capacity development. Malak Trabelsi Loeb highlighted the need to develop talent, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote international cooperation.

We are pleased to announce the release of a new report by ALLATRA Global Research Center: “Nanoplastics. A Systematic Risk Analysis for Human Health, Ecosystems, and the Environment.”

This publication is one of the broadest open-access syntheses on the subject, bringing together 592 cited sources. What makes this report distinctive is that it goes beyond documenting pollution levels or isolated harmful effects. It focuses on a more fundamental question: what makes nanoplastics so biologically active in their interactions with living systems, including the human body?

The report examines why nanoplastics should not be viewed merely as fragmented plastic waste, but as anthropogenic particles with distinct physicochemical activity. It highlights mechanisms through which these particles may interact with proteins, cell membranes, biological barriers, and ecosystems, and outlines potential implications for human health, environmental monitoring, and future research priorities.

Bridges of Peace: Ukraine 🇺🇦 — Slovakia 🇸🇰 Joint Event of the Women’s Federation for World Peace Slovakia and the ALLATRA Movement

On March 14 in Bratislava (Slovakia), the international event “Bridges of Peace” took place, organized by the Women’s Federation for World Peace Slovakia together with representatives of the “ALLATRA” International Public Movement. The initiative brought together women from different countries, including Ukraine and Slovakia, to strengthen dialogue, mutual support, and humanitarian cooperation.

🔹The culmination of the event was the symbolic “Bridges of Peace” ceremony: women from Ukraine and Slovakia stepped toward each other, exchanged hugs and commemorative gifts as a sign of trust and unity. Each participant received a certificate symbolizing the creation of a “bridge of peace.”

🔸During the meeting, attention was given to supporting people affected by the war initiated by Russia against Ukraine, as well as strengthening connections between women living both in Ukraine and abroad.
Representatives of the ALLATRA Movement took part in organizing and implementing the event and also spoke on behalf of the Ukrainian community, contributing to the development of dialogue and cooperation.
