@ColinTCrypto@VitalikButerin@drakefjustin Technically it actually raises the global power use, miners switch coins, some of which like kawpow algo use even more power, plus you now have data centers running nodes for ethereum. Servers use a decent amount of power too that weren't needed before.
@VitalikButerin Yep, great work centralizing the blockchain and giving amazon the keys to shut it down. It's also nice to know those power hungry data centers hosting nodes are saving the environment π€¦ββοΈ
@kimya98765@TajoCrypto@WatcherGuru The only thing the merge is going to do is change the consensus system and reduce network security. Won't reduce gas fees or network congestion, that comes with sharding next year at the earliest.
