Useful point by @Dr_PhilippaW on Newsnight re the 3 family Xmas bubble - to make sure noone has to face Xmas on their own, not to encourage 3 families to squeeze round the dining table.
Chris Whitty taking a leaf out of JVT's playbook, says the rules are a maximum - you wouldn't drive at 70mph on an icy road even though it's legal - we are now navigating icy and treacherous roads.
Like others I’m hugely concerned at the @UKLabour suspension of Alan Gibbons @mygibbo
Alan is the exact type of person with the politics dedication and passion we need to rebuild the party around not abandon or kick in the teeth.
It's unacceptable to sack a worker without providing a reason. And it's just as unacceptable to suspend a Labour Party member without providing a reason.
In all the years I have watched every single episode of #MasterchefTheProfessionals I don’t think I’ve ever cried... Until tonight... when Santosh talked about his childhood working as a labourer on a canal aged 12, and then made the tiffin box for his mum... 😭😭 #MasterChefUK
“They’ve done more draconian interventions in Wales than anywhere else and has it worked? No, it hasn’t.”
Former Brexit Party MEP @Fox_Claire says a rules-based system stops people using their common sense

Glad I broke my ban on watching @BBCNewsnight to see @Fox_Claire who was excellent @katierazz is so much better than Emily Maitlis who just sneers at people she doesn’t agree with and constantly interrupts
The non-reporting of all those CLPs voting no confidence in Starmer and Evans is actually pretty stunning. I mean, totally predictable, but stunning nonetheless. A textbook example of the mainstream media's establishment bias.
@EnglishRadical@post_liberal Gordon the Shyster.
Too cowardly to sign the Lisbon Treaty during the hours of daylight. He sneaked in after dark to avoid the Press, the bastard
Whatever happens today with a post-Brexit trade deal with the EU, I can promise you this: I am NEVER going to vote for any of those European Commissioners EVER again.
Lots of liberal hyperbole in today’s Observer. The usual error of conflating the EU, a political and economic institution, with Europe the continent. The idea that you can’t admire and embrace European culture while supporting Brexit is, and always has been, a total nonsense.
