उत्तर प्रदेश के फिरोजाबाद जिले की अदालत ने न्याय व्यवस्था की एक ऐसी नजीर पेश की है, जिसने अपराधियों के दिलों में खौफ पैदा कर दिया है. शिकोहाबाद की यादव कॉलोनी में एकतरफा प्यार की सनक में डेढ़ वर्षीय मासूम आरव की बेरहमी से हत्या करने वाले कसाई विराज उर्फ जितेंद्र पाठक को जिला जज ने मृत्युदंड (फांसी) की सजा सुनाई है. इस पूरे मामले में सबसे बड़ी बात यह रही कि वारदात के महज 40 दिनों के भीतर ही अदालत का ऐतिहासिक फैसला आ गया.

French national Sylvie Yasmina, 54, was held captive by her Pakistani husband in a remote village in Pakistan for 12 years after moving there from Australia in 2014.

She and their five children were confined to a dilapidated room, cut off from the outside world, beaten on a daily basis, and denied access to education.

Police found the family covered in bruises during a raid after one of the children managed to escape and alert authorities.

The family has since been moved to a women's shelter in Peshawar and plans to return to France. Her husband has been arrested.
