@Jayden7i I genuinely don’t understand why we don’t sign low cost cover with so many holes. A couple of 20 million pound or less players from farm leagues would do us wonders and then we can spend on center mid and winger
@jonlane86@brunoog97@NUFC Shearer didn’t leave. Bowen for west ham didn’t leave in a worse sport if you want a contemporary. I get it but no club legend status for me.
🧵 BIG READ ON WHY HOWE HAD TO GO....
Now that the dust has finally settled on Howe leaving and Jaissle arriving, it was 100% the correct decision on both accounts.
Howe - possibly through no fault of his own - had lost the dressing room and the ability to motivate not only the players....but himself.
He was completely burnt out.
You could see it last season....he didn't have the answers to any of the questions being asked of his side.
The smiles were no more.
The tactical nous had disappeared.
The drive, energy and determination to bully the opposition had evaporated.
The ability to inspire/motivate the squad was long gone.
No more intense high-pressing, darks arts or blowing teams away 5-0.
We were easy pickings.
Instead of this summer acting as a soft reset, all of the above continued.
He's a good manager when given decent players but he's not a miracle worker.
He can improve players but he can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
He wasn't given the tools to succeed any further than he already had.
In fact, the tools he did have were actually taken away from him.
I'm not sure where it all went wrong but somewhere along the road, he lost what made him special.
Hopefully he'll find it again after a rest and recharge....but the similarities to the end of his time at Bournemouth are uncanny.
He got lots of things right in his time here but there were lots he could have done differently too.
He made fundamental mistakes such as....
▪️Not being flexible with formations
▪️Constantly picking his favourites rather than trying something different
▪️ Ditching the intense high-press overnight for no apparent reason
▪️ Asking for contract extensions for players like Wilson who offered nothing.
▪️ Negative tactics like sitting on a one-goal lead for 30 mins and ending up losing games because of this.
All of the above couldn't continue.
And now they won't.
Jaissle is EXACTLY what the fans WANTED ....but more importantly, he's EXACTLY what these players NEEDED.
Young, hungry, fresh ideas, highly motivated, vibrant personality, tactical flexibility, aggressive touchline antics....all the things we've lacked for at least the past 18 months, maybe longer.
A week ago we didn't know who he was.
Now we know he's exactly what we've been missing.
Time waits for no man in life....especially not in Football and if Howe had still been in charge this season, I genuinely believe we may have been relegated.
Howe gave us memories that will last a lifetime....now it's Jaissle's job to give us many more.
Thanks Eddie and good luck Matthias.
HOWAY THE LADS!

The Bruno news got me thinking, my favourite signing since the takeover has to be @trippier2, the first to take a punt on us, true leader & brought a lot more than just quality on the pitch. He set & raised the standards, feel like we need another Tripps type signing #Nufc
