Steve Clarke is a pish stained alchy who only got the job because he hates Rangers and had one decent season playing low-block on a plastic pitch with Kilmarnock.
Cape Verde that has the same population as Edinburgh sealed a last 32 spot which kills the βsmall populationβ argument
Haiti scored more goals than us
Jordan had more attempts on target than us
AND there are still morons in the media defending Steve Clarke
@TectusVulpes@buckadeath This is the big hole in a lot of evolutionary theory. Certain things require multiple, unrelated components, so all of them have to evolve separately but to not provide any disadvantage until the point they coalesce.
@Elvish_Harper@justifyjimmy Don't know if there's a perfect historical analogy for orcs but the closest would probably be some twisted Spartan society with all of the brutality but none of the honour or structure. Orc women would be raped, weak children left to starve and die and the rest press-ganged.
I look at that squad and just see a slightly more upmarket version of Pedro's.
Fernandez - Cardoso
Gassama - Windass
Aasgaard - Forrester
Barron - Docherty
Chermiti - Herrera
@boolishanAFC Chermiti didn't even look like a footballer for the first half of the season. There was a serious suspicion he just turned up at Everton and someone gave him a contract thinking he was a footballer π
@GR_7_Bear I like Moore but he's years away from being a consistent player. Most of his time in a Rangers jersey been spent making mazy runs into trouble and losing possession or picking the wrong pass. 10/10 for effort, 4/10 for end product.
Rangers collapse came because guys like Chermiti, Aasgaard, Fernandez, Gassama, Moore, Meghoma, Djiga, Chukwani etc could not be relied upon to step and perform at the business end of the season when the pressure was on. A squad full of loans and project players.
@MARKOCO24434497 Boy has ability but lazy and just not a striker. Plays when he wants and doesn't have the right mentality to be consistent. He'll got back to some top 4 Portuguese side and score 15 a season and be forgotten about.
Other problem with our squad is there are far too many players who play with a smile on their faces. Miss a chance or a mistake and they're looking about with a big cheesy grin. I want a team of angry poe faced sore losers who are kicking doors in when we lose.
@FM_Bear1980@caltat Yeah absolutely. If Rangers even just had an equivalent of Callum McGregor we'd be in a better position. Guys like Barron, Chukwani, Diomonde, Raskin can't run a game of football, can't take a game by the neck.
@WillSharp222 We need to put this idea that Rangers managers spend money and make signings in the dustbin of history. ALL of our signings are done at the club level, manager had 'some' say but ultimately the days of a manager really having much control over signings is over.
Rangers should have a policy of no permanent managers appointed midway through a season. Rohl is a victim or his own success, raised expectations then judged by how it ended rather than the shambles he inherited. 9pts in 8 games, 1 win in 8. 19 of our 20 wins came under Rohl.
@geekayeie24 Again Clement didn't have a lot to work with but raised expectations, guys like Dessers, Lundstram, Dowell, Lawrence, Cantwell etc just didn't have the quality when it mattered. Shafted with the stadium debacle and slapdash signings in that summer window.
@WillSharp222 It's not about keeping a shite manager it's about a manager inheriting a poisoned chalice. We'd have better off just hiring a solid interim and giving a fresh face a clean slate in the summer. Now Rohl goes into next season with baggage because he raised expectations.
@caltat 175 games for Sunderland and only 24 is a plus for me but I'd really like us to go for someone with a bit more class. I know we can't afford big names but if we could get a 32/33 year old who has another year or 2 in the tank like Steve Davis just to add experience and guile.
@J1mb0wW I'm not married to Rohl as manager but he's the least of our problems at the moment. Nothing changes without a clear out and rebuild with the right kind of players.
@J1mb0wW He took us within 5 games of being in contention of winning the league, they fell apart because they're not winners, they're not experienced and couldn't handle the pressure.
