@tarponjeff@MonaRahalkar You keep calling SAGO a "committee opinion," but their methods section reads more like a systematic evidence review than a collection of personal views.
Perhaps the depth of that process is beyond your understanding!
@tarponjeff@MonaRahalkar Do you really think SAGO's experts were unaware of these claims?
They reviewed the evidence and concluded it leans zoonotic.
Repeating DEFUSE, patents and suspicious coincidences doesn't turn speculation into overwhelming evidence for "lab engineering".
@tarponjeff@MonaRahalkar It's a little odd to dismiss SAGO as a "committee opinion" and then substitute it with your own opinion based on four selected documents.
@tarponjeff@MonaRahalkar SAGO reviewed the engineering hypothesis and concluded they "did not find scientific evidence supporting this hypothesis" and that it "remains largely unsupported by other scientific and intelligence reports." Hard to square that with "overwhelmingly points to lab engineering"
@tarponjeff@MonaRahalkar For balance, here's what WHO's SAGO concluded after reviewing the available evidence: "the weight of available evidence suggests zoonotic spillover." https://t.co/xpfHV02OLN
@MonaRahalkar You replied that criticism of lab leak is a strategic effort by people who want to "kill the lab Leak and truth," but you've since deleted the comment. Do you no longer stand by that statement?
"I hope that Ridley and Rahalkar will correct the record and apologize to the people they've defamed with these inane conspiracy theories."

Thoughtful, intelligent takedown of Matt Ridley's self-contradictory nonsense about a lab leak origin for COVID-19. Ridley's blatant backpedaling on key issues, & lack of interest in having his theories peer-reviewed should be disqualifying, but this is politics, not real science..
Nonsense. We have half dozen papers in our best scientific journals, Cell, Science, Nature, detailing the evidence for zoonotic spillover of SARS-2, happening just like SARS-1, MERS coronaviruses, and not a single scientific paper, nor even plausible mechanism for GOF lab leak

@sigridbratlie@garyruskin You got copies of the clips involving you, not the whole lecture you originally requested. The point is: access can have limits. It doesn't make Baric guilty or "hiding something" just because he/UNC challenges disclosure.
@sigridbratlie@garyruskin Baric isn't guilty or "hiding something"just because unrelated disclosure cases exposed wrongdoing.
I used public-records laws for the UiO docs. Your HK-dir case shows the nuance: access can be granted while copies are denied due to copyright and risk of misuse.
