@GregoryMcKeown Only when you accept that you ARE actually the one in control of your decisions, projects, and workload will you be able to live an essentialist lifestyle. Delegate, be selective, let go of the trivial many, etc. all to divorce you from the idea that you have to do it all.
@GregoryMcKeown CPR Certification. Academic advising for Administrative Services Credential and masters program. Celebratory end-of-year dinner with fellow administrators. Two down; one to go!
Love this graphic of how to know when you're being a bad boss. As an administrator, 1-on-1s are cruicial to keeping a finger on the pulse of my teaching staff. #edchat#independentstudy#indstudy
1:1s are valuable meetings for your direct reports to share their thinking with you & decide what direction to proceed with their work. These meetings are also where you’ll get your first early warning signs you're failing as a boss. https://t.co/It2wY4KExE
Loving the individualized, self-paced instruction. "If you can get it in 2 videos, do 2. If you need 5, do 5." Also love that not all get to do self-paced instruction. Independent study is not for everyone, but it can be just right for some. #independentstudy#edchat#indstudy
@nbgreene @jmattmiller@DitchThatTxtbk@dbc_inc Good luck bullet journaling! I do a form of bullet journaling myself. I started off with a blank notebook but found that designing layouts was taking way too much of my time. I ended up getting a disc bound calendar that I can add my own pages to. Now it runs my life!
@jmattmiller@DitchThatTxtbk@dbc_inc Facilitating a leadership/admin book study on Radical Candor, facilitating a school-wide book study on The Upside to your Dark Side (emotional intelligence related), and participating in a book study on The Culture Code. 📚🤓
@thekenlane @GregoryMcKeown It was great! Because the group's focus is on personal and professional growth, one of the norms was to actively facilitate a safe space to share our challenges and ideas. Highly recommend reading together.
@GregoryMcKeown My team just finished #Essentialism! Thank you so much for going into monk mode to write this. We are all so #Grateful to have read it, and the ideas and strategies you've shared have already begun to shape our lives. Here are our takeaways https://t.co/RhqOZ3nPkd
We all have bad days. This teacher offers test retakes as a way to acknowledge students’ humanity. Here’s how he makes the retake policy clear.

It’s the debates at work that help individuals grow and help the team work better collectively to come up with the best answer. #RadicalCandor#WednesdayWisdom https://t.co/02lBahEFpL @WholeWhale
When I'm gone, I want my legacy to be about the relationships I've cultivated with students, staff, and friends. Believe there is good in everyone. Believe everyone can be great at something. Believe in the power of a positive environment.
