Starting my game dev journey.
Starting simple: building an incremental game. My take is that incremental games are actually the tightest RPG loop in gaming right now.
Documenting the daily progress as a way to keep myself accountable! ๐ซก๐

added mouse controls. It plays pretty well just following the mouse cursor (you can see the new cursor reticule if you look closely)
Always more to experiment with, add, and rebalance. I wonder how you know its "ready".

added two new upgrades time slow and cluster bombs ๐doing a UI/UX pass, adding a few more things (always more to add) and trying to gear up for an https://t.co/KRe9SxKRsS playtest demo soon

experimenting with some new enemy patterns to give more gameplay variety. One challenge is having the patterns actually come through properly when the player is easily destroying lots of units quickly.
this one is a test where indestructible units appear.

updated the main menu so it fits the game a bit better with the swarm actually being destroyed. Sometimes just a small fun change is still progress

After experimenting with a few different bosses. I'm liking the idea that bosses are the swarm working together in more intelligent and interesting ways.
goal is to give players fun moments and a sense of anticipation for what that next boss might be!

When I moved the game to 3D. I lost some of the first time player experience moments that helped them understand the game.
Reimplemented those, made some improvements. Next few days will be about designing new bosses and swarm patterns.
