@MaslowSAR@CassandraRules Killing people isn't the goal; making people who don't care how their behaviour affects others also be negatively affected by their behaviour is the goal. Preferably before the behaviour occurs.
@WaywardRabbler@CassandraRules That's the point; not to keep the amount of dog incidents the same but now also get rid of the owners, but the second order effect; make people who generally don't think these things through well enough reconsider by adding consequences they're not willing to handwave away.
@KurtSchlichter "Should be denied" is the giveaway here. Judge isn't making a choice, he's just drawing a conclusion from procedure, probably because the motion has failed to meet all criteria required.
@alx It's a reframe. From "killing your kids is bad and keeping them alive is more or less the minimum expectation" to "killing your kids is understandable, but I managed not to, so look at me being a good person".
@Cernovich Soft fascination effects maybe? Not enough to focus on to be worried, but enough novelty that it occupies attention that would otherwise be spent meandering about daily stressors?
@michaelmalice It might be a bigger mindfuck coming into it with a former Soviet mindset, but I'd highly recommend it. Has the same 'light about something serious' vibe.
