But then again people are happy to pick and choose which laws they think should actually be followed.

Why shouldn't adult cyclists be allowed to make decisions themselves too? Why is it only you that gets to choose? You appear entitled.

The fact is we all have needs and road space is a finite resource. All your examples have a flip side that sees cyclists negatively impacted often by selfish and/or illegal behaviour.
