David Neto

Physics grad student at UIC. I study how stars forge the elements aka stellar nucleosynthesis. Defender of the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

[Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero]

Legendary coach Bill Belichick and the #Patriots have mutually agreed he won’t return as head coach in 2024, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

After 24 seasons and six Super Bowl rings together, Belichick and New England move on.

[John Vampatella @JohnVampatella]

@NFL_DovKleiman Bettis' memory is almost completely faulty on this sequence of events. Watch here starting at 15:10: https://t.co/C5nF4WqH9n. NE doesn't call a time out. The officials do for a measurement. And the guy BB calls over is #52, Ted Johnson, defensive captain, not a 400lb NT. LOL

This "free Starlink internet to Ukraine" is to a great extent funded by USAID and the Polish government

More Kurtzman means more filler...

[South America @SouthPark]

Screw you guys, I’m going home

[Dr Matt Burleigh @Matt_Burleigh]

Y’all should see what he’s doing to the night sky

[David Neto @Stellar_Forge]

Oh, no you don't POS! You overpaid for Twitter just to push every user notifications...welp, #Goodbye_Twitter

[David Neto @Stellar_Forge]

I wouldn't say I'm the greatest at making graphs. But, this IQVIA plot looks like utter garbage. Literally 10 mins in matplotlib and I get something nicer.

[Kevin Seifert @SeifertESPN]

Data compiled for the NFL and NFLPA shows that injury rates on non-contact injuries to lower extremities are statistically the same on artificial turf vs. natural surfaces. Important context in the ongoing debate.

[William Rose @dodecahedra]

Very strong opening to a math video. Ok, you have my attention.

[David Neto @Stellar_Forge]

Not surprised, he was awful as a Mayor. Why did anyone think he'd be better as Governor.

[David Neto @Stellar_Forge]

My mind is ready.

[David Neto @Stellar_Forge]

Great videos!

[chessapig @chessapigbay]

I finally got around to uploading a lil miniseries of (somewhat messy) videos on lie derivatives, Liouvilles theorem, and Poincare recurrence. Perhaps some of you would find it helpful?

[David Neto @Stellar_Forge]

The guy didn't do much on the field when given the opportunity. I think the Patriots will survive with one less pseudointellectual dude bro on the team.

[Greg A. Bedard @GregABedard]

What a complete waste of a draft pick Winovich was. His spoken words to actual plays ratio was about 200/1. He could be a player but the Patriots, despite a slow defense, never bothered to find out.

[Garry Kasparov @Kasparov63]

Ok, after years of warnings were ignored and hearing "Garry, you were right!" all damn day today, I'll repeat what I said in 2014: Stop telling me I was right and listen to what I'm saying now. My recommendations follow: 1/5

[NASA Webb Telescope @NASAWebb]

Bonus image! When it’s time to focus, sometimes you need to take a good look at yourself.

This “selfie” taken by Webb of its primary mirror was not captured by an externally mounted engineering camera, but with a special lens within its NIRCam instrument. #UnfoldTheUniverse

[𝗞𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗡 𝗚𝗡𝗨𝗧𝗭𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗦 @kevin_gnutzmans]

"wondering about the mysteries of the universe he spent the whole night studying, and before he realize it's morning again"

Something I've been delaying to finish for a while now, had to wrap it up and move to the next thing! Hella challenging to make a noise scene like this.

Simple experiment, two years ago...not that there's any specific reason people should be wearing masks right now...

[Rich Davis, PhD, D(ABMM), MLS🧫🦠 @richdavisphd]

What does a mask do? Blocks respiratory droplets coming from your mouth and throat.

Two simple demos:

First, I sneezed, sang, talked & coughed toward an agar culture plate with or without a mask. Bacteria colonies show where droplets landed. A mask blocks virtually all of them.
