Total permits issued : 11,426.

Top 5 countries of origin.
1 - India : 3,632
2 - Brazil : 1,280
3 - Philippines : 1,160
4 - China : 762
5 - Pakistan : 487

For perspective, a total of 4,096 asylum seekers arrived in the same timeframe.

Work permit holders are also entitled to family reunification which means that figure will be a lot more than 11,426 when families are counted.

If you're not concerned about legal immigration, you should be.
