The Artemis II astronauts have splashed down at 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11), bringing their historic 10-day mission around the Moon to an end.
Today, Mayor Kate Gallego, ASU President Dr. Michael Crow and Gov. Katie Hobbs broke ground for the 175,000 square foot ASU Health headquarters, which is expected to open in fall 2028.
The building will house the ASU’s John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering, the School of Technology for Public Health, the Edison College of Nursing and Health Innovation, and the College of Health Solutions.
Tonight, the City voted to send Sonny off into retirement. This true 'good boy' has been an accelerant-detecting K9 for @PHXFire for years. Sonny's last day on the job will be May 29th. His longtime handler is adopting him. 🥰
Photo safety cameras are officially up and running! Beginning today, drivers caught speeding may be issued a traffic citation.

Phoenix is currently under an Extreme Heat Warning which means select trails are restricted for public safety.
🚫 Camelback Mountain: Echo Canyon and Cholla Trail
🚫 Phoenix Mountains Preserve: Piestewa Peak Summit Trail and associated trails
🚫 South Mountain Park and Preserve: Holbert Trail, Mormon Trail, Hau’Pal Loop Trail, and access to the National Trail from the Pima Canyon Trailhead
Hiking is prohibited at these locations and strongly discouraged on all Phoenix trails from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on extreme heat days.
Remember, safety first! Avoid hiking during periods of extreme heat and review “Take a Hike. Do it Right.” guidelines for responsible hiking. 🥾
