@carla_tromans Wishing you all the best, I'm sure you will make a great EP.
If you do apply, find out what financial hardship support student services offer at the university if things get very difficult.
@carla_tromans I was in a similar position applying for the Dundee 2012-2014 cohort. They confirmed the course would be not be funded after we applied but before the interview invitations. It was hard going and took years to pay off. For me it was worth it, but it's a personal decision.
Fab posters from @EChildhoodMaths to help develop spatial reasoning for young children through #play
Spatial reasoning underpins not just maths but much abstract thought (e.g., just think that *through*) via conceptual metaphors - also #resilience

@Miss_McF@MrsPhilipsMaths did some great interdisciplinary work supporting teachers from other departments to teach applications of maths as part of their subjects (Num for all) so maths lesson time could focus on other concepts.
@miriam_chaudhry @james_birchwood This is great advice, I got feedback after my unsuccessful applications. It was really useful and definitely helped me get a place on the course later.

This should go without saying but just in case, don't touch random people or their mobility aids without permission, even if well-intentioned. This described incident is not well-intentioned though, it is shockingly selfish and dehumanising.
Me, a wheelchair user: “What are you doing?”
Man on bus: “I’m hanging my groceries on the back of your wheelchair. I don’t want to put the bag on the floor.”
Me: “Please take if off now.”
Hanging anything on someone’s wheelchair without consent is unacceptable.

This is a really important issue. Whole thread is good and this reply stands out to me as I agree with it so strongly. There needs to be appropriate and accessible sex education for disabled people and those with additional support needs, including info on consent and autonomy.
@HolSmale Absolutely right. In addition, there is an urgent need for more attention to be paid to sex education for people with special needs. I myself work in the sector (institutionalized care for people with an ID) and I see enough how the subject is taboo. (1)
