Enbridge Gas is experiencing a high volume of calls about the smell of natural gas in the Kent and Ravenna areas due to maintenance being performed on a natural gas line in Portage County owned by another pipeline company. (1/2)

As an update, Enbridge Gas Ohio is continuing maintenance on a natural gas line in Marietta. The flaring with a large orange flame has ended but may need to restart. Natural gas techs will be onsite to monitor this maintenance event around the clock until it’s completed.
If you suspect a gas leak:
- Do not turn natural gas valves on or off.
- Do not smoke, use a lighter or match.
- Do not use an electric switch, telephone or cell phone, garage door opener or flashlight as they can ignite gas.
- Do not start or stop nearby vehicles, machinery.
Reporting a gas leak cannot be done online. If you smell gas, please leave the area immediately and warn others to stay away. Call 911 from a safe place.
If you call us with a gas emergency and the call is unanswered, call 911. We are experiencing technical difficulties at our call center due to the global technology outage.
