@PerformativeMed Not to mention Haiku (epic) on your phone, scheduling app on your phone, and dragon on your phone because hospital no longer supports it! If this is what they want they should dispense hospital phones with all the applicable apps (to be used during work hours only!)
@TurkSurgeonNYC @Cornell You don’t have to be ‘that smart’ but it helps. It also helps to be a quick processor, and to be a decent organizer/planner. But most importantly, to be actually good at it, you MUST have humility, compassion and open mindedness. Otherwise you’re just another bad doctor.
@EiranGorodeski Needs to become part of general fellowship - shorten overall training time. And of course financial incentives around procedural vs non procedural time to change which means changing all financial incentives in medicine.

And yes, as a pt having to pay for the time your provider was running late… and what if you don’t own a cc? A real thing for some pts. Can’t park at all where they get healthcare.
@doctorwes@DGlaucomflecken@ABIMcert This is spot on. I literally had a conversation with them two years ago that went very much like this. They extorted me to pay for a certificate I was going to let go in order to keep the other one. A total scam, the ABIM.
