Instead of choosing one side and getting a partial view, how do we integrate different perspectives and gain a bigger view? That's the inspiration behind my series — Faces of X. 6 videos starring @Liv_Boeree on AI, @TheOmniLiberal on free speech, @BuckAngel on gender, & more👇👇
AMEN. Some ideas:
▫️Boost content with similar responses from ideologically-opposed groups
▫️Boost content with Likes by people who usually don't like the same thing
▫️Boost content from people we follow who are outside our social graph
@elonmusk@karpathy@kuroke01@gallabytes AMEN. Some ideas:
▫️Upregulate content with Likes by people who usually don't like the same thing
▫️Upregulate content from people we follow who are outside our social graph
▫️Upregulate content with similar responses from generally opposing groups
Europe didn't invent enlightenment. It pioneered one kind among many:
▫️Indigenous: relational wisdom
▫️Vedanta: non-duality
▫️Buddhism: contemplative awakening
▫️Confucianism: moral cultivation
▫️Europe: reason, science, & rights
One human race. Many ways of waking up 💫💫💫
"Israel" doesn't mean to obey God.
It means to wrestle with God.
To argue. To question. To challenge.
New SuperDebate episode with @stephlepp and John Hines: how Judaism turned disagreement into a sacred practice, and how it runs straight through to modern democracy.
Instead of directing kids to specific majors, I encourage them to cultivate *two* distinct passions. That gives them three options: passion #1, passion #2, and the likely under-explored intersection between them 🤓
What fields or majors are people suggesting to their kids in the age of AI? I get this question a lot from people and I know I've got a lot of successful people who follow me so am throwing it out to you all. Where are you directing your own kids?
@karol I direct kids not necessarily to specific fields or majors, but to cultivate *two* distinct passions. That gives them three options: passion #1, passion #2, and the likely under-studied intersection between them 🤓
@mysteriouskat Expressing gratitude for my life.
Specifically, I say the Jewish morning prayer of "Moda Ani" — which thanks G🤍d for the gift of another day as the very first act of consciousness.
It may feel like there's a tension between gratitude for what we have vs. desire for more. To me, it's a matter of sequence: "thank you" before "more please."
First, honor what's here. Precisely from there, ask for more 🙏🙏
I love people who are intellectually omnivorous.
The kind who can discuss folklore, black holes, bird migration, poetry, and grocery store pricing in a single conversation without getting lost.
Masculine and feminine are two overlapping bell curves. The Right is guilty of forcing everyone into "normal" stereotypes, while the Left is guilty of collapsing two curves into one. A wiser path honors the difference between the curves, while making full room for outliers.
Much of the AI debate devolves into accel vs. decel, instead of asking a mission-critical question: how do we build AI in a way that ensures it's pro-human?
Thank you for exploring that essential question: @FLI_org, @AnthonyNAguirre, & @Emilia_Javorsky: https://t.co/PMYiYODSnj💫
@time2buildnow@ChrisWillx Aw thank you, Nick. I'm the quintessential tortured artist-mother — the perfect balance doesn't seem to exist at this stage of my kids' lives 🙃
But yes, I welcome your journal prompts!
