This 30 year-old starting PGY4 would like to thank the bouncer at Penrose for stopping only me at the entrance with a polite โJust one second, young lady,โ and carding me. This man thought I was under 21. Bless his heart!
@YesIAmTheDoctor Perk of being in the middle of 3-5 hospitals - at least 15 of my stroke codes in the last 2 years have been on physicians, usually they tell me exactly what I'll find on stroke scale on history!
I wonder how ridiculous it must be to walk to the ED to talk calmly about your hand feeling weird to then have a stroke code called, leads & IVs & gowns thrown everywhere, then have me pop up: "HI ARE YOU LEFT HANDED? SAY TIPTOP BASEBALL FIFTY FIFTY MASSACHUSETTS"
I had a great time speaking to the Duke Baseball team about sleeping well to improve performance on the field and in the classroom. Thanks to Coach Pollard for the invitation. Never gave a lecture with a scoreboard as a screen before! #choosesleep!
