Today’s chapter was truly shocking, but at the same time, this was the consequence of Mokyeon’s own decisions. He crossed a line that should never have been crossed with Nanjo, and what happened today was the result of those actions. As difficult as it was to watch, it was something that was bound to have consequences sooner or later.
At the same time, it makes perfect sense why Nanjo is desperately looking for Sunhwa. From his perspective, he believes he has completely broken the trust of someone who genuinely cared about him. What Nanjo doesn’t know is that the image he has of Sunhwa is completely different from reality. He still sees him as someone kind, gentle, loyal, almost like an angel. He has no idea how Sunhwa actually treated him or what his true intentions were.
That’s why he’s searching for him so desperately. Nanjo genuinely believes he has deeply hurt someone who didn’t deserve it.
Now that we know Mokyeon’s past, it’s impossible not to feel sympathy for everything he went through. His childhood was heartbreaking, and it helps us understand why he became the person he is today. However, understanding his past doesn’t mean excusing his actions.
I think it’s important to remain fair when looking at this situation. We can feel heartbroken for the child Mokyeon once was while also acknowledging that what he did to Nanjo deserved consequences. Both of those things can be true at the same time.
