@emnursing18 Unfortunately, I fell prey to the 3 year burnout. It is a very 'hard on your heart' gig. It takes a very strong, compassionate and empathetic nurse to do the job well, for you cannot unsee mutch of it.

I cleaned up my girl, installed my new bike computer (all by myself!), and started training for Velosano 8. My goal is to conquer a hill in the Metroparks that has always been my turn around point in the past!

Roommate was coughing all night, getting breathing treatments, with just a curtain divider. My friend has been so careful through this whole pandemic. Now she had been exposed, in the hospital, and it could quite literally kill her. I worry for her.

My 30 something-transplant-immunocomprimised-former MICU nurse friend had to go in for a fever. Covid -. She had to share a room because of lack of beds. Her roommate tested positive after a month in the hospital because their family brought it in.

@Beth_Grosse @PapaMochaRN @reepRN Absolutely! In my unit (medical ICU) we generally only go by MAP goals... but, we need to always consider heart rate as well as pulse pressure variances. For this, while I can assess those, I do have to have a discussion with the provider, as our orders don't reflect those number

@reepRN Its built into our protocol. Typically it is the reverse of what is initiated with the exception of vasopressin. So we start with norepinephrine, vasopressin, phenylephrine and last, epinephrine. Reverse that, titrate only one at a time. Leave vaso til levo is under 25 mcg.

@TheBlondeRN My Father, 3 Uncle's, Grandfather, 3 cousins, father in law and stepfather in law are all Vets. I also have several friends and colleagues who are. My Grandpa was Korean War, my Dad and both FILs as well as 1 uncle were Vietnam, 2 of my cousins and 2 of my uncles were Gulf War.
