Un article relayé par @INRAE_France a ainsi récemment montré que les graines de pin maritime gardent en mémoire les variations de températures auxquelles elles ont été exposées pendant leur formation, jusqu’à au moins deux ans après la germination !

#RP_INRAE Découverte : les graines de pin maritime gardent en mémoire les changements de température qu’elles ont subis avant germination. Une mémoire qui persiste pendant au moins 2 ans lors de la croissance des jeunes arbres.
👉Comment ? Les changements de température ont induit des modifications épigénétiques qui affectent l’activité des gènes sans modifier leur séquence ADN. Les scientifiques ont identifié 10 gènes impliqués dans les réponses de défense aux stress environnementaux, d’adaptation à la température et de développement de l'arbre.
👉Cette étude ouvre la possibilité de conditionner très précocement les arbres à des variations de températures et leur permettre de s’adapter au changement climatique.
