@HustleBitch_ You forgot to subtract the sales tax on the tippers fee. There is no sales tax on a tip, the person receiving the tip needs to declare that as earned income so that it is assessed for income tax. That restaurant is actually overcharging you on sales tax, which is a tax violation!

@francesca_kms How is it cost effective? Cyclists don’t pay VED or fuel duty. The lanes carry minimal transport traffic benefiting non cyclists. They are a loss making popularist concession partially funded by other road users who don’t use them! Some cyclists even refuse to use them!

@H0H0v X. X takes 5 hours to travel its 500km straight road. Y is travelling at half X’s speed, but starting from the halfway point of an arc, so in excess of 250km. Hence its travel time is greater than 5 hours.

@jadefrancomb You get NCD at the beginning of the year. Invest the money saved at 4.32% in an ISA and you have a better return than just the capital back at year end. Plus the return is tax free and inflation beating. Simple financial common sense.
